Tips & Strategies

What are tips for dragon? Tips and strategies for dragon in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
There is a simple way to defeat the dragon , simply tame megalosaurs and breed them till u have good attack and stamina , wait until the day is near ending then attempt the raid with 1 yutyrannus and 19 megalosaurs , while fighting it must be night , due to an special effect of megalosaur they cant be noticed during night , so the dragon will only aggro at the yuty youre riding , the only tricky thing is after the dragon lands and want to come after you , you should let megalosaurs come between you and the dragon , dragon will get stuck on megalosaurs while the aggro is towards you so it wont attack megalosaurs and only trys to get to you , although you should deal with the minions yourself and be wary of the lava flowing under your feet ( megalosaurs might go in the lava and kill themselves )
Good luck with your dragon slaying 🐉
1 deinonychus, 1-2 wyvern milk. so ur deino won't get inflamed. Whenever the dragon lands go to one of it's legs and you're 100% safe (I've done it 4 times)
The dragon is powerful . I wish I could play
BEWARE! This boss does a lot of DPS, And Damage over time. I did him on Alpha with my 40k health, 1k melee, Therizinos. I brought 17 of them with a Yuty and a Pig I thought I was prepared but we barely won, only the Yuty survived and 8 of the Therizinos lived and they barely had 2k health. If you think you are prepared, prepare more. It’s a miracle I won.
Apparently, there’s some glitch that makes the boss aggro on you instead of your tames, so if your battle creatures block the dragon so it can’t get to you, they could attack it without getting too hurt!
Run run as fast as you can stay as far away from this jerk as possible when it uses the fire
Just…be careful….or it’ll make your day…not ina bad way
Watch some youtube videos before going in. Got one shotted by the dragon's fireball. Ironically, my xbox glitched about 10 minutes after returing to grab my argy at red ob, completely reset to right before I entered 😂🙌🏻 Got my second chance at redemption and beat it. Just make sure you understand the mechanics of the fight and don't get stuck in all of your dinos. I used 19 theris and 1 yuty.
You can tame these guys in survival of the fittest events
Alright, I’ve seen far too much poor information in these tips so I’m here to clarify.
1: Herbivores DO NOT take reduced fire damage. They only take reduced damage from the initial impact of the fireball. They will still take the full % damage from the dragon’s breath. However, veggie cakes are very useful and can help keep the heat off of your tames.
2: Tame ordering is almost mandatory for any team that isn’t comprised of player-ridden rhinos. Separate your dinos into 3 teams and don’t let more than 1 team take the same fire breath.
3: Utilize your yuty and other player-ridden mounts! Attack the side of the dragon that isn’t getting hit by the majority of your army. He should spew flames on your mount instead of hitting the main fighting force. This can allow you to tank a few more fire breaths than your army otherwise would.
Recommended tames:
*Yuty (obvious)
*Rex (always a solid option, just remember they can’t heal with cakes)
*Wooly rhino (Ridden only, do not ever ever ever bring these unridden)
*Therizino (basically a rex that can use cakes)
*Deinonychus (Only bring 2 of these, pump their melee to 600% and not further since their bleed damage is capped beyond this. Also expect them to die)
*Magmasaur (These are expensive, are a pain to breed and have a rather poor attack speed. However, they are immune to the fire breath)
*A good shotgun and 300ish shotgun shells (This will help if the dragon decides to cosplay the manticore and not land for awhile, or if your fighting force dies)
My tribe and I used nothing but our Deinonychus'. Each 5 of us were riding one and we took Alpha Dragon down in less than 5 minutes.
Try using 18 therizino's, 1 yutyrannus and 1 deaodon, the tickle chickens because the dragon does extra damage too carnivores and they are good anyway, and the yutyrannus because its roar boosts the strength of your other tames and the deaodon because it heals your other tames passively, which means your yutyrannus would be boosting the strength of your theri's and your deadon constantly healing them 24/7, making this fight decently easy depending on the difficulty.
Used a rocket for final hit and I see a freaking rag doll off the map
18 Rex’s 1 yutyrannus with rider, 1 daedon with rider, rider on 1 Rex too command Rex’s attack and passive.👍🏻 That’s how I took out the dragon and manticore. Good luck😀
REMEMBER, It deals extra damage to carnivores so unless you’re using deinoychus and only like 10-20, it is not a good idea to use carnivores! A good idea is to use theris instead, they’re pretty good for other bossfights too
You can actually tame it by cheats, just spawn the boss(untamed/wild) in by using cheats and do the force tame command. You're welcome
I recommend at least 5-10 lv 100+ dodos but if you want a challenge 15-20 high lv rexes work to
This is the easiest way to beat any of the 3 island bosses not only the dragon. First you need Deinonychus as many as you can bring next you need to have a rex to ride. So if you doing solo bring 1 rex and 19 deinonychus (20 tame limit)
Then once in the boss fight run around on your rex. Have the deinonychus follow you as soon as the dragon lands get some distance and whistle your deinonychus to attack the dragon. When the deinonychus run into the dragon they will block it and the dragon will not attack them. The dragon will continually walk trying to get to the rex as long as you keep your distance with the rex and have the deinonychus attacking you will take no damage and the dragon will be stuck and won’t attack. Essentially the bosses all have the same mechanics they will always attack the biggest Dino in the arena (biggest by size not level) so this essentially can be done with a rex and any Dino smaller I just use deinonychus and recommend them because of their bleed effect. And they are easy to raise
