I managed to tame a low level one with tranq arrows + Crossbow. I shot his head a few times then I tried shooting at his feet. When he went down he had half health.

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use tranq arrows it will kill it and I found a lvl 150 one and I stuck 200 tranqs in its head and it still didn't go down.

you can definetly tame these with tranq arrows. put some wooden spikes around it and feed it soothing balm if you can. you dont need too much narcotics if you use soothing balm

If it rolls up into a ball, get out of render distance on a flyer or fast tame for a bit then come back it should normal then you can tranq it once or more if lucky, rinse and repeat. Their torpor drops at 2.4 per second, as long as you keep pumping tranqs in under 30-45 secs(more than enough time to render out and back) it should get knocked if it's health allows it

This thing can't be tamed using bole.you need to use tranq arrow if we shoot it it we attack.so avoid its attack and hit in its head

I haven't been playing long enough to know if this is an actual change but when I was taming it with a crossbow, headshots worked fine and it didn't curl up, it just ran away(slowly)

Once you're deep in tranq darts trying to tame this, punch it... I punched it and it unwound itself to start running, punched it again and it became unconscious.. almost used 15 darts before I knew the shell absorbs half torpor 🥲🥲 he's a level 2 😂

Just ignore those saying that you should shoot them into head or tail. Shooting into shell deals the same torpor as long as they are not curled up. This is why dododex gives only one value on numbers of darts or arrows needed, and no extra value for head or tail.

I found it is best to use a nets gun to immobilize

Their torpor rate is lower than most creatures, needs to be updated.

Shoot it anywhere you like as it is a myth that you must target it’s legs head or belly. The shell provides the doedi zero protection while not balled up and thus no reduction to torpor gain until it curls up into a ball. Don’t believe the widespread don’t hit the shell BS.

I was taming a level three and needed lots of narcotics so bring them

Build a taming pen......trust me.

If you don't have an argy, get a few sleeping bags and spike walls and go to redwoods. Make sure to have a weapon since you might have to fight Carnos and other creatures while it tames. Up for others to see!

It takes double the amount of berries as the dododex recommends.

Just knocked one of these guys out, I have her backpack loaded with berries right now. I had to shoot her on the shell though cuz the torso is the best I can aim for on most animals, so she wasted more than 50% of my narcotic arrows. Wish me luck guys
