I tamed my first deado on cryopods find them near mountainous regions once u fund the levk u want get a long neck with tranq darts or tranq arrows with a crossbows Wich works unless it's a really low level anyway get on a high rock or make a simple trap not too much resources as there small hit them till they go unconscious then feed then kibble or berries mejoberrues being the best for berries narco berries or narcotics works Incase or torpor dropping once the torpor drops feed it narco berries u cba also increase food drainage in setting to make it easier once it gets hungry it will start eating secure it with wooden spikes if needed or eliminate any threats around it before taming then there u have it name it then pick it up with your argy or cryopod if needed and go back home
Best stone gatherer in the game also gathers wood decently and is very tabkg and has decent speed
More Doedicurus Taming & KO Tips
Use Simple Rifle and Tranq Darts instead of arrows to keep from damaging too much. Like for people to see.
Be sure to shoot the doedicurus on it's underside, not the shell, the shell only takes half torpor
So much misinformation here. Where to begin lol ok so as of Aug 2023, you can knock out w tranq arrows no problem, just go for level 80+ shoot in the head not the shell, wait 5 seconds between shots. You can’t bola them so ignore that comment. Creatures do not take torpor damage when they are caught by bear traps so ignore that comment too. Someone said to use biotoxin to keep them unconscious that’s a terrible plan because these guys wake up pretty fast, and they take quite awhile to tame high levels. You want to use narcoberries because they take the longest to take effect, the time it takes to fill up all the way is invaluable compared to filling it up fast.
They are excellent at getting stone, but they cant damage stone buildings..... im confused
Use a equus when it’s balled up to tame fast
they say nothing about how when it balls up its basically impossible to knock out
Don’t listen to ppl who say u need tranq darts if it’s high enough lvl it won’t get low enough to curl in a ball so if it is a high lvl you can use tranq arrows freely:)
To long to tame?
Pick it up with an argy and drop it into a pen. Place a sleeping bag down and sleep when you wake up it will be starved. Then knock it out at your leisure. Hope this helps.
Use tranq darts instead of arrows if you can, because they will roll up after taking a certain amount of damage and will only take 10% torpor when rolled up
