The rock elemental is a big improvement from the dodicerous so I suggest getting one of those asap

Took me over 50 tranq darts with a journeyman longneck rifle and almost used all of my mastercraft crossbow for a level 140

I made a base with Stone Gates surrounding me all around, I was noticed by the alpha tribe and we became friends, if you want a stone base in just seconds, tame one of these

Carry it with an Argy,fly past stone and it will automatically harvest.

They do not collect Metal anymore. No Metal, please update.

Pick your tame up with an Argy and just drag it around to harvestable stone, you won’t have to do anything but watch it break rocks. Just stop at a stone while you’re carrying it. It’ll stop before your bird is encumbered. Rinse repeat.

Set it on wander, take an Argentavis, pick up the Doedic and drop it on the rock. Once it swings, pick it up and drop it on another. This makes up for the movement speed.

Argentavis can carry them, new update

They do gather obsidian once again. Get as much metal as obsidian from each node. Its awesome.

The Doedicurus is one of the best utility dinos in Ark, and probably the best stone gathering dino available. The Doed can harvest stone from rock and metal nodes. While Doed’s don’t lay eggs, they are breedable. The Doed’s size makes it easy to store and it can be carried in the talons of Quetzals and Wyverns. If you’re planning to build in stone, the Doed is an essential addition to your dino collection!

Never Use Arrows to knock it out, it will take a hour just to knock out even in a trap.

Just put it on wander and let it do the work for you

Lvl 85 took way more to ko then it says. Roughly 100 trang arrows out a jm xbow and 59 darts from a app longneck... timers where accurate otherwise.

This animal is a must have, and by the way, when it carries stone, 100 of it that it has in its inventory is only 15.0 pounds

Melee damage increase the number of stone you gather ... So pump weight et melee damage

Another tip : Put the doedicurus on a quetzal platform with ramp and weight is not a problem anymore ( except for the quetz )

Put him near a stone area, enable wandering and he will collect it all alone! Best Dino for lazy people! Be sure to protect the area with some spikes and a tamed raptor/sabertooth protecting him!

I have no real tip.. My doe poops every 2 tail swings.. Cant even get a whole rock down because he keeps pooping lol..soo much poop

Absolutely adorable, and a must have little cutie. But they have a hidden use...If you go up to a pile of rock, LMB on it and it will gather stone like there's no tomorrow!!! Also RMB to roll around. Much faster than plodding, but you can't steer XD

Apparently, there is a bug that Doedics can't collect obsidian
