When harmed, it will swing its spiky tail at whomever is attacking it. If the Doedicurus is harmed more than it could take, it will curl into a hard ball made of keratin, which is used to protect itself and fend off enemies. It will also, when tamed, roll through its enemies as another special attack. They are also great when you are in need of lots of stone 👍.

On Ragnarok, I have seen them mostly in the black volcanic zone. There are a lot of dangerous animals that you should keep a distance with. Mostly mantis, Spider, and centipedes. I have seen rexes, carnos, and raptor there too.

If the Deodic balls up when tranqing it, stop. The tranqs will not work while its balled up.

In Valg. U can tame these when lvl 9, with boomerang. ( you have to spawn in chalk hills tho )

Idk about y’all… but this thing is better at collecting obsidian than the anky. My anky only collected like 40-50 but the doed collected like 100-110 each vein :/

So if you’re on scorched earth just use a boomerang they are slow. So you can just easily boomerang them and have a new fried

I managed to tame a low level one with tranq arrows + Crossbow. I shot his head a few times then I tried shooting at his feet. When he went down he had half health.

The amount of algae is incorrect for small tribes. Would take 14 for 145

If it rolls up into a ball, get out of render distance on a flyer or fast tame for a bit then come back it should normal then you can tranq it once or more if lucky, rinse and repeat. Their torpor drops at 2.4 per second, as long as you keep pumping tranqs in under 30-45 secs(more than enough time to render out and back) it should get knocked if it's health allows it

This thing can't be tamed using bole.you need to use tranq arrow if we shoot it it we attack.so avoid its attack and hit in its head

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use tranq arrows it will kill it and I found a lvl 150 one and I stuck 200 tranqs in its head and it still didn't go down.

Once you're deep in tranq darts trying to tame this, punch it... I punched it and it unwound itself to start running, punched it again and it became unconscious.. almost used 15 darts before I knew the shell absorbs half torpor 🥲🥲 he's a level 2 😂

If you ok darts for long neck rifle I can pierce through the shell

Their torpor rate is lower than most creatures, needs to be updated.

I haven't been playing long enough to know if this is an actual change but when I was taming it with a crossbow, headshots worked fine and it didn't curl up, it just ran away(slowly)

Get a doed and a quetz. Pair them together for stone runs. Gather 4500 stone in 10 minutes or so depending on how far you have to go to nodes. Makes building a stone base easy and fast.

Finding this animal can be extremely difficult especially on official servers if you don't have a flyer yet. It's less rare near mountains and metal spawns. One of the most easy places to find one on the Island, is in the middle of redwood.
