Alright since everyone’s tips are saying they are dangerous they’re actually not. I’m not joking at all and being serious. I got four max levels. They can defend you from small threats you’ll likely to face early game like a weak lone sarco a few compies or a small dilo pack. But not something like a rex or a giganotosaurus or 7 raptors at the same time. Punch the like so beginners see.

You can breed dodos for juvenile dodos they give prime meat if they are babies/juveniles

Great food store for very early game. Tames have a 4x slower spoil rate for food in their inventory so knock one out, call it Fridge and store berries and meat in it. Can be carried too!

If you're ever stuck on a hostile server, you can hide and tame/breed these in mass numbers. Either you will reach the tame limit, or cause serious lag for your captors

Dodos are birds that eat berries. They can be most commonly found on coasts. Wild Dodos are not aggressive so no need to fear retaliation or death around them (unless they attract a nearby predator).

Simply knock them out by punching them (or using your preferred tranquillizing equipment if you have any) and inserting berries (not black or white berries) into their inventory.

Dodos are useful for there eggs since they do not lay eggs based on a timer, but rather have a chance to replace there feces with an egg.

You can breed dodos and hatch there eggs to get baby dodos. Baby dodos can be harvested for prime meat if needed.

Dodos can also be used for storage if necessary or as a distraction when escaping a near-death situation. They can also be used as bait.

If you put them on wander, they will produce every material in the game. This can be harvested through bushes, trees, and rocks. Underrated.

1. If you make a farm and have your dodos wander they will have eggs to hatch and eat

2. They are good companions

3. If they have high level health and attack they could protect you

You can use these as bait for certain predators on land and in the sea because of the ability to pick them up and throw them (and cheap taming).

This is easily the most useful, destructive, oblivious, and powerful thing in ARK. (yes even stronger than the overseer) It can be used in many more ways than other Dinos. Bio-Warfare, ever heard of it? Dodos can help you do that. Give one swamp fever, take it over to an enemy tribe or person, and drop it in their base. (On wander) The fever will forever linger. If you level it high enough, it becomes a murder machine. If you want a free alarm, dodos come in handy. Set it to aggressive in your base, and it must kill or be killed. They also swim fast, so send it into an enemy’s base with water routes. They can also have C4s on them, which means if they are attacked they explode, and they can just wander. Set it off when you want.

Hands down the most useful dino in the whole entire game

One of the best early game tames. If you get a big pack of these, you can easily take down large dinosaurs. Also a pack of these can get you a huge amount of kibble, the holy grail of taming. Helena Walker is honestly stupid, don't listen to her "dOmEsTiCaTeD dOdOs SuCk" dodos are OP creatures.

I bred battle dodos with super high melee and decent health and have them hiding behind corners in my base on aggro. When someone hears or sees one they laugh. Oh how they laugh. All while being pecked to death by killer chickens. It works so well because the punch that hurts the most is one you don't see coming. By the time they realize they need to defend themselves after a couple packs it's to late.

on mobile you can breed for size and if you make it small it can get on your shoulder and if you make it big you can ride it and craft a decimation bit allowing it to damage any structure including tek
