Every creature can hold a maximum of 300 stacks of items, which is twice the holding capacity of a Vault. This means something as simple as a Dodo or a Kairuku will be able to hold 300 Fertilizer and still have plenty of carry weight left over. (Or any other item. Don't even bother boosting their health. They get killed very easily and quickly, you're wasting points if you do. The only thing you want to increase is the melee damage and the weight. (But beware the weight adds up slowly)

Little tip for starters dodos eat pretty much any berry and you need to knock it out to tame a team of 3 or 4 dodos can kill Dilo good luck!

Dodos are actually quite durable. I had two dodos and a dilo and a carno spawned near my base. Because my base was on a hill and I had spears, I killed the carno but it took the life of a dodo. Tame as many as you can as they will be useful later on in the game.
