2) beat it until it's down. keep in mind they run away so you dont have anything to fear.

3) shove food down it's throat

4) profit

This is a very OP dinosaur once you get it to level 5 it is sooooo OP it will one shot stegosaurus in a coma

Quetzals can carry them, so what I do is grab one, fly into a metal taming pen, then have my tribemates seal the pen the rest of the way.

Once that's done, respawn outside the enclosure, build a secondary enclosure around that one, and only then should you build a window into the wall to attempt a tranq.

(for ark mobile players, because console, switch and pc do not have this)

Breeding dodos is hard. Cult bit (gather veggies from normal bushes) can be put on a rideable dodo (size 2.4x and up) if they are 2.6x size or larger. 3.0x rideable dodos can equip the dodo deci bit (destroy any structure even tek), and dodos 3.4x and up can do a groundpound (swipe down, stuns nearby players and creatures, although makes them attack you after) Max size is 3.5x and dodos can sit on your shoulder if below 0.75x.

The first step, put the both dododex in you hut or house and then press on the head the appears when you get closer to the dodo and press 'enable wandering' for both dodos and put them close to each other so they can breed!

When they breed an egg, you need to make the egg warm. If it was to cold put it near to a campfire and if it was too hot then put it in a cold or warm place.

When it hatch you need to claim it so it doesn't run and leave the hut.

Why aren't these guys passive tames?

Cause they're too dumb to take the berries out your hand. Instead, it believes you're offering yourself as food.

Commonly found on beaches, dodos aren't combat, preferring to slowly flee when harmed. Eggs can be taken without agressing them.
