For knockout most of the time unless your are taming a low level you MUST use darts the arrows will practically 80-90% die so you must use darts. Also when looking for one you should look either at cold places or in redwood forests. Cold areas have some but redwood forests will have so so many with plenty their you can find the perfect level that you want to tame and that you can handle.

Build a dino gate and then place stone fence foundations in the shape of a box in front of that and place door frames on those,and now you have made a trap! (:

Bear traps dont work on them but large ones do, be careful though as large bear traps dont hold them for very long.

These guys are great, They don’t Argo unless you get too close and they are easy to tame, just get on a rock and use tranq arrow or darts

When breading keep at least 2k berries and meat

Their a medium speed and do 46 to a lvl 135 argy so pump health MF

If you use bear traps, bring a bunch and line them up so each time it breaks out of the trap, a new one one be ready to catch it. Bring at least 15 if you are going to try to tame a high level one.

When knocking out bring a dodo or two if you don’t have the best equipment so that when the bear gets very bloody (which will happen with prim equipment) feed it a dodo to get back up it’s health

1.Find a rock that the dire bear can’t reach you from and bring to following:A few narcotics,Tranq arrows or darts and a lot of prime

2. Bring your mount so they can clear out dangers while you tame and carry the prime meat

3.Knock out the bear from the rock (I recommend using darts because it doesn’t have much health)

4.Put the prime meat in the bears inventory and use the narcotics when the topor is low and bam! A fluffy teddy bear

If you are playing on a server and you are riding on an imprinted (bred) creature, you only get the imprinting bonus if you claimed the creature from it’s birth. It does not matter if you imprinted said creature you only get the bonus if you claimed the creature. Up if helpful.

Got into breeding direbears would definitely recommend we have one over lvl 300 and we are fully imprinting them to get them even better.

Taming a 145 bear right now so if u use tranq arrows it will sometimes die instead of knock out so use traq darts for knock out , there super cute !!

The bear changed the game for me. Easiest thing there is to breed since they're an omnivore, so they eat berries, just be aware that they eat meat first if you're breeding anything else close by.

My bear has solo'd lvl 60 alpha Rex while only losing 10% health. Sounds unreal, but they can also solo alpha death worms.

Fighting them head on could prove unBEARable for lower or even mid level mounts.

This bear is better (bearer) in groups of 6 or more for PVP

It takes about 20 tranq darts with a journeyman rifle on a 150. It has over 900 weight and I'm inlove.

Primitive server tip: use taming pen and magnify glass.. bear will run when torpor is high, you can see how much torpor and how much damage your arrows do with Mag glass, torpor drops slower than health goes up :)

I found a 150 Dire Bear (pure black), and knocking it out with crossbow & tranq arrows almost killed it. Left it with 300 health out of 2500 so my recommendation would be to use tranq darts & tranq arrows as a mixture and or just tranq darts if you have enough. Tips from yours truly.-Nova
