BEAR trap does not work on him

If you guys are wanting to have a really strong tank of a Dino, then definitely get a direbear. I have a level 67 bear and she is an absolute unit!!! She has 2,064 hp and she has over 300% melee damage, and she is my beloved baby. I have found a max level male bear in the redwoods and he’s beautiful; black on top and white on bottom. I am really wanting to breed them…but I’m worried about what things it’ll need though. So I gotta hope and pray that it doesn’t want something crazy. Wish me the best of luck everyone!!!

USE DARTS, arrows will usually kill it before it knocks out

These things are absolute beasts, they do insane damage, grind like a boss, and gain momentum while sprinting, to tame these, get a mount which allows rider weaponry and invest decent amount of health in it. Then let it aggro on you and start tranquilizing them ( rifle advised since x-bow may kill it ).

Its torpor run isn't that annoying so just knock it, feed it, then wreck the island's almost every bit( gigas and titans are exceptions ). Up if this helped.

To make honey last practically forever, make a fishing rod and equip honey, that is about to spoil, to the fishing rod, then un-equip it. It should refresh the spoil timer. Does not work with leech blood. Tested on PS4.

Direbear have little health compared to torpor. Keep a few tamed dodos at your ramp trap. When you've shot the bear enough for it to be bloody, throw in a dodo. It will instantly kill and eat it and start regenerating health. Give it a moment or two and continue darting. Happy hunting!

These guys can run up to really fast speeds when agro. When tamed they are AMAZING berrie and fibre collectors. Really powerful, a low level bear could easily take on a low level Rex.

To reduce chance of killing it while trying to knock it out is by shooting with a primitive crossbow without delay until it starts to show blood then switch to a regular bow and then space shots 7 seconds apart - works every time for me no matter the level

If you on mobile and meet it at 200 Or more (hard or brutal) don’t be happy because i was. The topor too much and heath is litte so . If you want tame him at high lv( watch his heath).( my english is bad)

Probably the most versatile land creature. Can eat berries and meat. Hard to tame unless you use DARTS or a SNOW OWL to heal it during tranq arrow-ing it with a x-bow.

Probably best to put HP>Dmg. These things are trucks but don't get to cocky.

While regular beartraps do not work, LARGE ones do.

Place the traps in a line and scatter some in the surrounding area, then line up the bear to parallel with the trap line, and start shooting tranqs.

This will cause them to slowly work their way through the traps, and all you need to do is keep shooting.

If it gets down to the last trap, hop on an Argentavis and fly high up, then away to a base (I find they will follow you very far).

You wont be able to knockout a high level direbear 400+ using tranq arrows in a crossbow instead use longneck rifle with tranq darts but the darts are only craftable in level 62.
