Build a stone trap use 1 foundation 1 doorframe and 3 walls. Place large bear trap on foundation. Shoot bear with dart and start running. It will get into the box but can't escape giving you enough time to place a wall on the other end. Then start tranqing. Make sure to put up spike walls around you

Prim +. Try using honey for a super quick tame

So first i have done doungen and get the 300 level direbear imprint and after that I review that and go for sleep........for 0 food level and after that knock him put some smoothing balm or food(meet or honey) i tamed with meet it give 149 level boost and i feed poten dust , it gives around 60 level instant boost.

Now my dire bear have 1100 melee damage and 15000 heath and 265 movement speed.

I done in casual + hard mode so I get 300level dire bear i recommend as take high level dino.

It’s so easy just knock it out with a bear trap🙄🙄

If you are like me and you struggle to tame one in primitive plus here is my advice for you! :) Be sure to have a magnifying glass in your hotbar and watch it's health closely and keep track of how much damage you do per hit. once it gets really bloody wait 10 seconds and then shoot again. Be sure to keep repeating this method and you will have yourself a fluffy battle companion!

Dire Bears are honestly my favorite Dino in ark. It is all around amazing for anything you need. It can get meat, prime meat, berries, and even fiber. It's good for fights due to the amazing amounts of damage it can do. This thing is also great for transporting over long distances because of how extremely fast it is. I have about 10 Dire Bears because of how helpful they are to me as my tribe. This is a must have

Always wait in between your tranquilizer dart shots. The Dire Bear is extremely easy to kill while trying to tame.

Dododex needs to update!! Bear CAN damage stone. Our taming pen on PS4 pvp server was stone and 150 bear mauled thru it... as well as 2 of the trib ??.

I took my lv200 to the dead island I did have to force feed after being ambushed by 2 lv150 and a lv75 and I did encounter a lv90 alpha rapter but they have decent oxygen so I just out swam it. Other than that it was good

Why doesn’t the normal bear trap work? I thought it was meant for bears but they don’t work for bears 🤷

Does anyone know if honey heals direbears like nameless venom does with rock drakes? Like if so

Dododex says it can fit through dino gateways but wild ones don’t go through very well so use a behemoth door for a tame box

If u have compound bow use it with tranq arrows make sure there is only one bear cause they pack a punch tranq it then feed honey or prime meat hope this helps— sly gold

Use the best crossbow you have and tranq the bear in its legs. I have a 100% success rate downing bears this way. - Turok

The most risk free and effective taming method is to

1. Build a taming pen

2. Lure or drop him in

3. Build a bed and storage chest next to it

4. Tranq the bear until he starts to show blood

5. Put your inventory in chest

6. Let the bear kill and eat you.

8. Respawn in bed, get inventory and finish tranqing. No need to switch to a bow or use traps.

This is very effective because the bear will regenerate a lot of health from eating you. And you will have no risk knocking it out. If you do this correct, maybe even kill yourself twice, you can get the bear to be at 80-100% health when you knock it out. Thus increasing chances of it surviving it someone/something hits it.

After using my sweet gummy bear to lure a lvl 95 giga into its trap the giga hit me and gummy bear went after it i tryed every thing in my power to stop him but It was far to late he had finally met his match and I still miss him rip to my gummy bear you were like family to me good bye

Ok, so knock out method first then the actual taming method. I didn't trap mine, but I did this on a PC. I knocked out a low level one simply using narco arrows. I stuffed its belly with regular raw meat, waited and had myself a direbear. Prime meat may work better, I'm not sure.
