The direbear is best all around pet it will collect berry,meat,hide,chitin,fur,low lvl 5 bear comes with 600 lbs carry and speeds close to a girlie use a trap to pin it up and thank it.

When tamed, bebear (beware) of using roght click, itll make you roar once in a while which could be the diffrenc ein life or death for a tame

So for the people who wants to tame this beast easily with tranq arrows:

1. You gotta set up a box trap (My design: 2 stone foundations, 6 stone doorways and a wooden ramp. The normal box trap needs only 1 stone foundation and 4 stone doorways and a ramp, but it has a flaw that when you lure the bear up the ramp, it may jump over the box and kill you. My design is better because the bear will 100% fall inside of it.)

2. Once the bear is inside the trap, shoot it with tranq arrows each per 4-5 seconds. I recommend using the spy glass to check its torpor every time you shoot it for safety of not accidentally killing it. If the hp gets too low and the torpor isnt full yet, just wait until it regens enough hp, and then shoot it again (the HP regen of the bear is faster than the torpor drop, thats why it works).

3. Optional: cover the box with spikes around it so no predators can approach it while it's on low HP

4. While it's regenerating its HP, you can go hunt for some prime meat or do something else if you have a base nearby. You can also get some dinos to come to protect the bear when it's knocked out.

5. Feed it kibbles, honey, mutton, or just prime meat (raw meat is also ok but the taming rate will be lower)

6. Congratulations now you have tamed the beast

Of you are on crystal you will find lods of bears in the Bee cave but if you tame one you can not use them to harvest bee hives in the cave I don't know why but it just dose not work you have to use your pickaxe

while riding the direbear you can harvest honey withought being attacked.

This is the creature you want on any type of sever you play on.

All I can say is it hits like a truck.

They aren't very tanky but do a ton of damage so have a creature with heath and damage! Out running a direbear is like finding unicorn. Het high ground, jump in a river or get in a enclosed place!

Direbears are omnorvers! Best for supor kibble or giant bee honey. Best to use tranq darts than tranq arrows case a direbears torpor is higher that it heath.

I would recondmend the red woods i found a lvl 115 there

On official they can be the best starter tame you can get. Just don't get too excited because they struggle to kill spinos and up on abb. They work just like rhinos in the charge up run but the damage does not multiply. Becareful around these they can easily get a max level drake down to 50%. Overall they are a very good starting tame good at speed damage and health but they aren't as good end game.

Probably the most versatile ground mount. Can kill almost everything, with good saddle and imprint can even kill Alpha Rexes and death worms. Can gather honey, berries, meat, fiber, hide, pelt etc. At full speed can outrun Gallis and Micro raptors. You can shoot while mounted so it's good as taming companion. It also has an insulation effect like Otter and Dimetrodon so you can use it in cold/hot areas or for egg hatching. You can safely gather honey with right click, so if you have one you can tame others with high efficiency without kibble.

Diif you want to find direbears I recommend going to the redwood forest they're pretty common there I also recommend Taming a Pteranodon( if you're low level and you already have the saddle ) cuz its much easier to got out of danger when you have a flyer

Be careful when encountering these. Keep your distance because if agro, they hit like a bus. Two swipes with hide armor and you are dead. Shotguns take them out well.

Apparently, the BEAR TRAP doesn't work for the frickin BEAR??????!?!?!??!!?!?!?

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEM THEY ONE SHOTTED ME IN FLAK HELM AND CHEST W HIDE LEGGINGS AND BOOTS AND CHITIN GAUNTLETS THEY ARE POWERFUL AND KILLED MY ARGY TOOO

Bears can’t jump in Ark. They do have a super cute emote when leveling up to make up for it tho <3

Can’t Climb rocks get on rocks and use Tranq Arrows

The dire bear actually catches speed the longer you run, just found that out

If you need honey the bear is for you! I got one for this purpose alone. The bees will not knock you off the bear nor will they attack it at all so he's great for honey collecting. Make sure he dont reat it all on the way back!!!
