You need to tame this, hands down one of the best tames in ark so for the love of god get it

these guys are one of the best mounts in the game, but don't get fooled, taming one is harder than it looks. they spawn in places where big & small predators are common. it's kinda like taming a Kapro but to a lesser degree, the creature itself is not hard to tame if you are prepared, the hard part is defending yourself and the unconscious creature from other dangerous/annoying creatures.

For dire bear I recommend taking a ptera with you and 6 stone walls 1 ramp and 2 stone foundations to build a strip like this

On the opposite beach then agro the bear to run away from the reds and fly over the tractor get him stuck note high stamina=best results then a simple bow or longneck to uncon him and then giant bee honey for easier tame

Don't waste your kibble, use giant bee honey! Easy tame, and a fun battle!

For me, Dire Bears are one of the useful and greatest mounts because they have pretty awesome damage, they are fast, They can gather both berries and meat and also fibers too! Dire bears are also one of the best mount on some caves(Other than dire wolves)

These animals are unmatched in usefulness. With some breeding, I was able to raise a bear that took out a lvl 125 alpha Rex. Best overall mount out there

When breeding since bears are mammals their breeding is just like the dire wolf so stay near em they don't lay eggs

Great for getting bio toxin from the red topped mushrooms with red bottoms in the abb section on val

If the dire bear is to strong just build a 6 stone foundation, 10 stone walls and a ramp. Then just attract the bear and run into the thing, you need a lot of tranq arrows or darts (maybe 95) attach them on your bow and shoot, until it's knocked down feed it raw mutton, giant bee honey, prime meat or superior kibble then bam! Free winnie the pooh. Make sure to delete ramp so nothing can go in the pit and attack it while it's down.

THE DIREBEAR

Wild Direbears

Ark's Direbears are dangerous creatures located in and around the redwoods. Many survivors and their tames have been mauled by the incredible damage of the direbear. Direbears are not very aggressive but have a short temper when you come too close. Direbears have low health but amazing damage, much like the Spinosaurus. Able to defeat a Carnotaurus with ease, the Direbear can pose an unlikely threat.

Tamed Direbears

When tamed, the Direbear can gather many materials with incredible efficiency including Organic Polymer, Fiber and Honey.

They also gain huge momentum when sprinting enabling them to go very fast.

They can be used best with health and damage level-ups as they would make a very good defence and offence.

Is it faster than allos?

Up if yes down if no

Make a trap using 4 foundations and 8 doorways (stone is preferred but wood works if bear is tranqued quickly). Leave a gap between the foundations so the bear can fit. Leave one side of the trap open to lure the bear into and close the open side once the bear is pulled into the trap.

DO NOT tranq&chase, bears are extremely fast and even if you do manage to catch up with them, they likely have aggroed another carnivore (and since they spawn in the redwoods, it is likely they will end up aggroing something as they flee). Use cryopod or bring a dino bodyguard with you after taming to keep the bear safe as it can get quickly overwhelmed on its own in the redwoods and end up dying under the constant threat of attack.

A very good berry and fiber gatherer

This thing can one tap you with 300 health very worth tame though it can ramp up speed the longer it sprints aswell

These things are very strong, good harvesters for fiber and if you get a good pair then you’ve basically got murder machines. Also to the person who said there are larger bear traps, you are right and the people who say that the bear traps don’t immobilize it hate to come to the truth that they can just make bigger ones.

On mobile they look really cute with a bandana and it can really pull off the Winnie the Pooh look

The perfect mount. Gathers practically everything;berries meat hide chitin- the usual carnivore stuff and herbivore stuff combined. And with the gets faster the longer you run perk, you will never be stuck behind tribe members weather theyre on raptors or dire wolves. Can easily beat carnos and possibly some early level rexes. All round mount with basically no faults.

This is 100% the best poly farmer. It's in the radiation of aberration. You pick the white/pink bulb flowers with it. Get a slot cap of poly in a minute.

A level 18 bear two shotted me while i was taming a galimimus and i was wearing flak armor YEP ITS THAT OP (i was at full hp)
