Great battle mount. Lvl 140 took out 3 allo's(alpha was 145) then tanked and killed a 95 alpha raptor. Total beast of a Dino.

Knocking a bear out can be difficult, they will usually die with arrows, even with a Mastercraft crossbow. Bring a dodo and feed it to the bear after a couple of shots. If the bear eats it will regain health. Good luck

If you don't have tranquilizer darts you can use narcotic traps to Lowe its torpor then use a crossbow with tranqs

Used a journeyman rifle super easy to tame space shots out every 7-8 seconds (for lag) took 29 darts spaced out. Female 150 tamed to 347% melee

90% of the time you will kill the bear if you use tranq arrows so if you want to knock one out I suggest darts instead

For primitive i would suggest using narc traps to raise its topor and tranq arrow it the rest of the way to avoid killing it.

The dire bear is really good for starting out. It can collect berrys and kill most animals. I had a lvl 150 and it took out a max lvl Rex with half health left. Overall a really good starting tame.

Make sure if using a bird not to get stuck inside of the DireBear.

The dire bear is a great gatherer of fiber in a dense bush region.

Someone has commented to use the frog. Don't do that it will just die. I used darts and it worked fine 99% tame and it was level 95.

If you want to tame one with tranq arrows you to run it through some narq traps first so it doesn't die

While taming start with tranq arrows then heal the bear and continue with tranq arrows until knocked out

I made it 44 sedatives darts and the bear dont dropped down

I tamed one and named it killer. Hes only level 15 and collected 800 fiber in 5 swipes. These things are fiber machines.

They don’t attack you unless you get really close to them, but just as a warning, they will kill your tamed dinos without hesitation... me and my friend lost about eight parasaurs and two trikes overtime to them. Just make sure to avoid them the best you can until you have the resources to either kill, or tame one.

Sadly, most wild animals will try to attack bears, and raptors it can't protect you from raptors.

If there is a large pack of them, run for your life
