Large bear trap doesent work... why you lie? I almost died jumping around the bear trap trying to get a level 140. Plez fix

The dire bear pursuit can give you a REALLY good shot gun, mine is 1500 damage, but they are super expensive, around 8000 metal to make, so save up your metal for this.

you’ll need the large bear trap to work, and then be ready bc it can actually break it!

You can find it in thé redwood biome

Use 50 scorpions if you have to

Only use arrows if it’s lvl 130+ or you will most likely kill it

Do not run from it it will hunt you down an they get faster the more they run to tame get it in a small pin or stand on a tall rock they have good aoe so try to find a rock or cliff that is tall so it can’t hit

Save your kibble, use honey! Just as good as the kibble. Just keep an eye on spoil timers of honey though.

The most insane thing just happened to me! I was up the entire ark night defending my dire bear while taming it with my tappy and then I had to take out an Anky that was trying to kill it and then the raptors I lost started attacking the bear then I killed one of them and then the other pounded on me and then the anky swung and hit it off! Then I used the tappy to kill it. Thanks anky lol.

Their torpor is pretty managable. I was able to knock mine out and multi task, but do make sure to check in every once and a while. Dodoex says no narcos needed, but you should never do a tame without some narcos :)

the direbear can easily take on rexes and can harvest meat and berries effectively oh and don't forget to make him go on wander when you have your walls he will auto collect berries

Be warned these guys CAN wreck stone walls I learned the hard way when I tried tossing him into a taming pen with quetzal🤭 even Dododex doesn't say it can. This might be due to last patch

I had tamed a level 145 direbear using raw prime and raw meat. It went up to a 196 after taming. It was killing everything It came up against, except for gigas and all alphas that were level 50+. Really good killing machine.

It seems that increasing movement speed has no impact on its sprint. Bumped the move spew to 1000% on a private server and there was no noticeable difference in sprinting.

Use red crossbow for primitive servers, red crossbow have 0% of chances to die ;)

Get your mastercraft crossbow and shoot it, wait 10 sec (so it regains health in that waiting time) and then shoot again.. Make sure you wait 10 seconds, I tested a lot of options and this one works perfectly fine.

Currently have a 250 Direbear with 5k health and 400% Damage putting it at nearly 700 dmg per bite/swipe. Ive murdered Alpha Tribe Dragons and Solod All Alphas up to a Level 80 Alpha Rex. I still have 30ish Levels to go before shes maxed ;)

Two dire bears are ideal 1 battle 1 harvest since they came out they are my main weight and battle Dino they're the best

Absolute best animal I have. Own a 242 bear, can kill Carlos 150 and rexs level 150. Gathers berries like a boss, great for prime meat, and has good speed. I would recommend all players get a dire bear. Can kill almost any feature 1v1 up to level 150.

One of the most useful mounts in game. Can easily take out a lower level rex or allo. Great gatherers of fiber, meat, and berries.
