Tips & Strategies

These are very useful creatures, both as wild and tamed
In the wild they are very accessible sources of sauropod vertebrae, easy prime meat and normal meat
They are very useful as mid game mounts because they have a large weight and a fast movement speed
They also are good gatherers
You can also carry 11 people on the saddle but that’s not very useful
Finally on Mobile there is a daily quest that requires taming one of them so just tame one and keep it in a corner
The only problems is that you can learn the engram quite late, but if you find one in a drop it’s not a problem
They are a pain to tame but the process is quite easy, just take some berries and afk for a while
Also they are quite defenceless so make sure you outrun / avoid dangerous creatures (any predators in general, including dilos)
More Diplodocus Utility Tips
Everyone saying the Diplo needs a tail whip attack and platform saddle, seriously if you want that get a bronto, the Diplo has its purpose and so does the bronto, making one into the other makes one redundant and totally useless. Brontos are attackers and portable bases, diplos are a hybrid of speed and capacity, no one would complain about a gallimimus that can carry eleven people and still have space to spare for three tonnes of cargo, but they do complain about a Diplo which is essentially that in terms of functionality.
Not as useless as you might think! A high-level spino was terrorizing a nearby river. I took my diplo (Dylan) and while the spino was focused on killing Dylan, I was using my crossbow and rifle to do damage to it. Spino ended up dead, while Dylan was at 2000 out of 3000 health, and I was not injured at all.
Love u Dylan
These are INCREDIBLY useful tames to have in mobile, and here’s why:
In Raids; In mobile, we don’t have cryopods. Due to this, turret soaking becomes a problem, in that it’s difficult and takes time to get all tames you need to soak to the enemy base. These guys are very fast, very easy to tame, and are tanky health-sinks even at low levels; making them the PERFECT soakers in mobile. need more? Go get some balm and mejoberries, and you’ve got your replacement in under 12 minutes.
Used as a construction tool, they’re the same size as a bronto, meaning you can easily build tall structures & tree platform bases using his sheer height. He has a lot of weight as well, meaning if you have an enormous amount of metal walls/pillars/ what have you, he can hold it for you.
Used for transportation, the same is true; he has SO MUCH WEIGHT! And he’s very fast, with 10 seats in his saddle. If you need to move base, he’s your man.
That’s my Ted talk, up for noobs to see.
