The Diplocaulus is an excellent early underwater mount, providing portable oxygen while swimming and offering impressive speed for exploring, gathering pearls, oil, and reaching underwater loot. It deals enhanced damage to trilobites, making it especially effective for harvesting chitin and other valuable resources. It can be ridden without a saddle, but only while in water, and should be protected from stronger aquatic predators.
