To tame diplocaulus you have to make sure you have a lot of fish meat or normal meat. Then if you are taming it in the wild you should build a small little area with walls or spike walls around the perimeter in case anything tries to attack it because diplocaulus are usually a top ten prey item for most things in the swamp. Finally find a diplocaulus and then rather take some time to push it into the small area protected by walls or just get a pteranodon ride the pteranodon and pick up the diplocaulus and then drop it into the small area then tranq it, feed it, and tame it. This baby don't need a saddle to ride and gives you oxygen while riding and also supplies you with a breath π« or 2 under water.

All these tips here tells you how to tame it... but what they fail to mention is the fact, you have to breed it on land, canβt move the egg and the baby HAVE to STAY IN THE WATER!! Donβt push the baby on land or it WILL EXPLODE!!!! I just watch my baby explode right before my eyes!!! Never have I seen a Dino exposed before!!!
How to tame diplocaulus
Where to find:
Diplocaulus spawn in swaps but they are rare but many of them spawn in dungeons.
Taming details:
Diplocaulus are knockout tames and they eat meat
Problems:
Diplocaulus are always getting eaten by everything so if find one keep it safe also diplocaulus have low health so you might accidentally kill it
Abilities when tamed:
Diplocaulus can only be ridden underwater and they dont need saddles and when you ride it yoy wont loose oxygen but the diplocaulus will and diplocaulus are fast underwater

On a 135, 13 crossbow shots DO have a chance of killing it.
They are skittish but not anywhere near faster than humans. They have low torpor and health, so tranq darts are recommended. Tamed like any carnivore, kibble is Archeopteryx. Can be found anywhere in and around the swamps.
Useful to supply oxygen to divers who do not have scuba gear at hand but very weak in battle.
If you ever need to find one, look for the 3 kapros, 2 sarcos, and 4 titanaboa smushed in a circle
On mobile, these CAN be picked up by ptera
The easiest way to tame is to pick it with your arge and put it far from water ποΈββοΈ
They eat kibble differently from other dino.. normal dinos like rex or quetzal eat 1 kibble every 80 food but the diplocalus eats 1 kibble every 120 food.. you need to re-adjust and calculate it again
Easiest to find in swamp by standing on the small islands inside. Watch out for Kapro as they'll literally sweep you off your feet <3 Pick up with ANY rideable bird and KO with only a few tranq darts in a safe area. They are fast and will run quickly. Simple kibble is best and very easy to obtain. Can only be ridden while in deep enough water where they are completely submerged. --AK
