A great utility Dino with a damage multiplier vs trilobites. Great source for collecting chitin, silica pearls, and oil in the early stages of the game.

Gets black pearls from trilobites pass the word
A must have tame for beginners! If you go under water with it you can ride on it and it gives you near infinite oxygen and if you dismount it you can have it burp into you mouth for mor oxygen!
Please listen to me! I haven't had these guys for long, but I noticed their healing was very low, about 0.1, while on land. When I went into the water with it so it could swim, the healing went up to about 1.2 per second. But the biggest thing is, I force fed it meat to heal, like with all carnivores. If you do this in the water, it heals hundreds with just a few pieces! I am going out to the seas in a bit. Knowing this healing factor will help a lot!
These guys are the kings of trilobite hunting. Not only do they deal additional damage to them, they're great at collecting chitin, oil, and pearls. Other perks: they don't need a saddle to be ridden while in the water, they provide you with oxygen underwater, and are faster than just about anything while swimming. Super underrated mounts imo.
So you just French kiss it and itβll keep you alive forever underwater?
To whoever said this is not rideable anymore, Dippy and I wholeheartedly disagree
Do NOT I repeat, do NOT go too deep into the ocean. Just like Basils, they will take damage from the pressure of deep water.
Amazing for starting out if you wanna go in the ocean and you don't have scuba gear unlocked, they are extremely fast and can outrun pretty much anything in the water like the dolphin, I still use mine even now
These cute amphibians are excellent for killing trilobites and gathering their corpses, since they:
* have a large damage multiplier on them
* gather black pearls in addition to the normal drops
* are fast enough to avoid and evade marine predators such as sharks
* will kill and gather trilobites in a single hit.
Additionally, theyβre great for pre-scuba gear silica pearl diving, since they can act as a portable oxygen tank. Just be wary of sea scorpions stinging your diplocaulus while you are grabbing pearls, because it has extremely low torpor and could be knocked out.
