What are tips for dimorphodon? Tips and strategies for dimorphodon in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
If you find one try to tame it and others the attacks you can unleash with just 10 death birds is insane
Got taming these down to a science. Even when they’re in groups.
Have a good stack of bolas and your knock out tool in your hot bar. Piss one off and run along a flat area, preferably a beach. As they’re chasing you, run, turn and throw a bola, run, turn and throw another, etc.
When they’re all bola’d, go to the first one you tied and knock them out while going down the line. Careful as knocking them out could piss off other dimos that weren’t aggro’d. Throw a stack of meat in them and watch the topor. That easy.
Watch out, they ignore your mount by doing damage to you instead of doing damage to your dino
I would say every one is scared of home because he does a lot of damage and a small hit box and they do a lot of damage I say one going in a straight line and I went behind it and shot it with a tranq arrow and it was already out not even a fight.
When attacking one, all dimprpodons in the area will attack you along with the one you attacked. When this happens, it is best to just take a weapon such as a pike and repeatedly stab the air. You will hit them as they fly by to attack you. Also, be careful even when you are on a mounted dino. They can attack the player while it is still on the dino, and can kill you. This happened to me as well; even though I was on a rex, a swarm of dimorphodons killed me while I was on the saddle. Luckily I was close to my base so I could just respawn and get my stuff back. However, you should still be careful about accidentally attacking on of these. Others can come out of seemingly nowhere.
Things to know:
You need a decent bit of meat+heavy narcotics to tame
It's all or nothing, one dimo can't do nothing, but 5+ dimos is an op swarm
Be sure that if you hurt it, it either dies of is tamed, or you WILL be swarmed by them
I’ve just shot one out of the sky with tranq arrows. Up if they’re good tames.
If you get an army of these and strap a C4 to all of them they are Better than a turret.
While these things are op at destroying dinos, they can be countered by some creatures like stego, anky, and even a spinosaur, (You can only be on two legs to do any damage) I went on a killing spree in the swamp since I had just found out that everything ignores it and killed some dimorphs by accident, only to realize that you can destroy its friends too when they come for you.
If you wanna be like general RAAM from gow get 5 to 10 of these babys to escort you , lv heath then damage and they shred . Also will protect you if you get dismounted whilst on a carno or something. I point and click at brontos and my swarm disintegrates it .
If you are planning on taming one of these Dino’s make sure these guys are alone cause last time I tried to tame one of these he wasn’t alone and my friend got killed 2 times by the Dino they are so annoying to kill.
When taming in pve, if there are too many columns from another tribe and you can’t use spikes, take 5 of these. Put them all on follow and one on aggressive, they will destroy anything that comes near. Leave a tame weighted down on affront, then make the Dino’s follow the tame, they will stay and protect the area while you are away waiting to starve it out. Too op not to have!! Use the same setup for a passive meat farm, just stop by and empty inventories.
Be careful these things are strong you can find them mostly every were in the forest biomes and beaches if you acedentaly hit them thy will kill you I had raptor named bronze and I acedentaly punched Therese guy luckily bronze was there he killed them even though I could just kill it my self one thing you need remberis if you hit these guys and they run away when they are low health they will come back to kill you until your dead or there dead
Always remember to build a roof on your base, because when I logged out on Hardcore mode when I was admiring the view on my roofless roof patio...my kill report said two of these a level one and a level 12 swooped down and ate my resting body.
Hardcore mode and I lost a lot of engrams...ouch!
