Tips & Strategies

What are tips for desert titan? Tips and strategies for desert titan in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Can literally be killed with a Managarmr, stand right below and shoot straight up, also you might want to evade the occasional lightning strike.
Solo tamed it with an imprinted mana with 3k stam.
Waited under it until it was going to fire lightning at me, jumped up 3 times, with slight delays between jumps so on the 3rd jump (jumped the 3rd time when the lightning was around 1 second) to shock its right wing corruption. I kept repeating it and it kept shocking itself, then I moved to the left wing, then the back.
It took a bit of precision and learning, but I eventually figured out the timing and had it tamed in like 15 minutes. Alpha tamed as it’s lightning doesn’t damage it.
I took 0 damage with this method, and always dodged its lightnings and flock. Maybe this doesn’t work on ascended, but on evolved, I think this might actually be the best way to tame the desert titan if you have the skill to do it.
Overall, I spent about 2 hours trying to do it with other methods, like a tek tapejara, damaging with the ice breath, using a tek suit.. this one was way easier. And easier than finding quetzals on extinction.
Fly under weak spot, and let it strike itself with lightning.
To anyone who wants to kill it, read this:
The Titan’s attack pattern:
-Will shock any creatures close to it enough (you will be notified when you are going to be lightning-shocked).
-The 2 tiny, shiny flying swarms are called Flocks, these will target you and you will be notified “You are being targeted by the Flock”, try to avoid this at all cost! It does ~1000 damage to your flying mount and dismounts you, which is really dangerous. Highly recommend that you bring parachutes in case the Flocks attacked you.
-Tail whip when you stand on it’s body, might insta-kill you, not recommended position to stand on.
*These are what I found from my own experience so there could be more attack patterns not being mentioned.
These are what I prepared, which is not so hard to get:
-A decent level lightning wyvern (good stamina is recommended). Just try to spit lightnight at it and avoid the Flock.
-Armor, parachutes, cooked meat (to heal the wyvern in case it got damaged)
Good Luck.
Alright gang, this is it.
My wyverns are almost fully grown, and it’s almost time to fight this thing for the first time after having all my stuff wiped by a glitch. The battle will be intense, as I play with default settings (I pretty much just have a bunch of 20th level wyverns. Eh. It worked last time.), so cross your fingers and hope for the best, as I will post the results soon. Until then, continue the good work. 👍

To kill it without flyers, Get a strong velonasaur and bring it up to the titan flying by using the geysers. Once on top shred it with the right click attack, when you are about to fall on the titan or it knocks you off, just dismount before you hit the ground. Rince and repeat. Kill the flock before it dismounts you.
What does it eat? I’d love to know
Tributes to summon are 1 Artifact of Chaos, 100 corrupted hearts, 10 fire wyvern talons, and 10 sarco skins.
This tip is about the flock
The flock don’t have any interest in giving you things, they have no interest in listening to whistles, but they will kill whatever they want, and they will stay near you, and during osts they find a lvl 30 pteranodon that did nothing more important than the hordes of corrupted reapers, rexes, wyverns, stegos, etc
What is the flock made of you may ask,
They are simply the flock
I beat it with 7 lvl 137-167 snow owls all imprinted and 5 lvl 180 argentavis all imprinted and only took about 2 minutes. Note on don’t ride on of them be below it and shoot it with shotgun and/or fabricated sniper rifle.
Use a quetzal with a platform saddle and build a box on top of it that will make the flock not knock u off
I did it!
The battle went way better than I thought! Out of the 13 wyverns, 1 died and the rest are not even scratched. I have just started grinding for the replicator, (which is soul crushing) and preparing for the ice titan.

P.S, I think I was just lucky.
Don’t forget the third Nodule on its behind, and I would recommend a Tapejara or a Quetzal for taming,(Tapejara I prefer most).and for the tape make sure to have a rider if in Multiplayer and you shoot from the front ,with whatever ur using.
With the managarmr laser nerf where range affects damage, the managarmr strategy is much harder to pull off. I reckon that a quest platform saddle loaded with velonasaurs should do the trick for killing it.
Bring a snow owl to dodge the titans flocks it works for me when I'm being targeted by a flock I dive. It works they de aggro you and you can get back to either killing the desert titan or taming him
