The Apex of The Desert Day 1: Creation The Lab exploded because of me. I’m not normal. How am I still alive? Everyday, these thoughts circle my mind, distract me from finding food, and are, honestly, annoying. You probably wondering why I’m…unusual. Well, to explain my history is…I can’t relive it, but I can give you a brief description about me: My name is Taback, I am 23, and am a professional killer…of dodos! I was alive, before I was reincarnated, for 13 years of my life, then dead for 7, then brought back 3 years ago. Now, for my…appearance. I have the head of a wyvern, the teeth of a shark, the body of a rock drake, the back legs of a T-rex, the arms of a raptor, the talons of a fire wyvern, and the tail of a griffin. My arms are extra-long, so I can walk on them if needed, and I have thumbs. I live in the desert, where it’s scorching hot during the day, freezing cold at night, but pleasant at dawn and dusk. Anyway, I can’t talk anymore, I’m too tired, I’ll talk to you tomorrow. -Dragonslayer, author of Grim Reapers-
The Apex of The Desert Day 2: The Hunt Whispers race across the plains as I travel in search of food. A Equus suddenly cuts across my path, dust flying up behind it, and I give chase. The horse gallops faster, eventually tripping on a rock and falling, sending up a dust cloud around him, and I pounce on it, sinking my fangs into his neck. He twitches and ceases to be. I tear off a chunk of him and start chewing, not liking the stringy, tough, flavorless, meat, but I can’t be picky. As I scan the horizon for more prey, a flash of metal catches my eye, and I notice a small caravan, returning from a long hunting trip, rich with meat, close to me. I also notice a small, black cat staring at the body pile, preparing to pounce on his target. Growling softly, I look back at the pile, pick my target, which is a nice, fat, juicy pig, and pounce. As soon as I land on the net, someone yells and throws a spear at me, but misses. I swipe my talons across the net, cutting it, and as I continue cutting another spear is thrown at me, hits, and explodes, sending me flying into a rock. I attempt to stand up, but pain flares up my right leg, forcing me back down. Whimpering quietly, I check it for injuries, but quickly regret it, because the bone is partially sticking out, broken, meaning I can’t walk. Dragging myself behind the rock, I listen to the raging fight, silently cursing myself, and suddenly the black cat is right next to me, crouched, staring at me. I scoff and growl, “What do you want from a ragged creature like me, cat?” I jump at the sound of my voice, because it is cracked and bitter. “Eat. Then we talk.” He replies in a soft voice. Then I notice the dead jerboa that is between his paws. Reaching out my hand, I grab the body and sallow it whole, and pass out from the pain. -Dragonslayer, author of Grim Reapers-
The Apex of The Desert. Day 3: The Shadow. The smell of the desert sand jolts me awake. I sense that it is day, but the air is unnaturally cool. There is something beside me. I open my eyes and find that it is the cat from earlier. My back leg feels strange as well. Even though I’d rather be out hunting right now, I still don’t seem to be able to walk. I growl extremely softly, as to not wake the kitty, and drift into a deep sleep. It only feels like moments later when the cat is shaking me awake again. I look at the cat and manage to get into a sitting position. “Can we talk now, please?” His voice is soft, even when he is speaking at a normal volume. “Sure.” Mine sounds like something broke. “Could you, um, try to, uh, not be so bitter?” He meowed. “I’ll try.” I grumbled. “Before we begin, can you tell me your name, please? Mine’s Shadow.” “Taback.” “Oh god….. Do you want to start?” Dead silence. “Guess I’ll start. My parents were killed by… how do I say this without offending you…” “Just say it.” “My parents were killed by another Tabac-” “Oh come on, there is only one Taback, and they’re standing in front of you!” “Ok, ok! They were killed by you!” I felt a small twang of guilt for murdering his parents. Just another divided family among the millions of dead families. I truly am a monster. “I ran after I saw their bodies, trying to convince myself that it was a dream and that it wasn’t real. I have been on the run ever since… You alright?” “After a couple of years murdering people in cold blood, you’ll never be the same.” I stood up and walked outside. Still limped a little, but it was so slight that it didn’t really matter. “The screams of the fallen still haunt me…” I lashed my tail and stalked out into the desert, immediately searching for prey. A moth caught my attention, but little baby moths were following their mother. Other creatures were around but it seemed they all had children. Head bowed, I walked back to the cave. “Taback…” Shadow mewed. I didn’t answer. Instead I sat down and faced the wall. “I’m not normal, ok? I wasn’t born, I was revived. In a lab. That I destroyed.” I growled. “The last thing I remember before I died was that I fell into ice cold water.” I curled into a ball and fell back asleep. Next three are on cat. -Dragonslayer-
Dodo Tales S2 Ep2
I just decided to write S2 Ep2 because why not
They decided to keep walking until the finally arrived at their first destination.
It was a small town, but it had the first people that Jerry had seen that didn't want him dead, other than his friends. All of the people there were in dark brown clothes, and looked defenceless. Rick stood up on a crate and tried to get their attention. "Hello citizens of...whatever this place is called! I'm here to warn you that enemy forces are approaching!" "Enemies? We haven't had enemies in almost a century!" Someone responded. "You'll need to prepare for a fight, or prepare to escape. you're allies with the Alpha tribe, correct?"
"Alpha tribe?" Jerry repeated
"Yeah, I used to be a part of it before they banished me" Rick replied
"What did you do to get banished?" Asked jerry
"Now's not the time" said Rick...
The tale of the shadow phoenixes(or TTOTSP)a prequel to TTDOT.
Chapter one.
Cole Greyson had just moved into a little town called “river bend city”. It was a small village surrounded by forest. Cole had a twin sister named Leah and a older brother named Peter. Cole had not wanted to move but they had in search of a better life….
“Cole get up! Breakfast!” Cole’s mother, Kate called up the stairs. Cole groaned and rolled out of bed. He sleepily trotted down the stairs. Everyone else was already seated. “Good morning sleepy head.” Kate said, smiling brightly. Her dark black and grey hair was up in a bun and her brown eyes sparkled happily. Leah grinned at her brothers disheveled appearance. She tossed her golden blonde hair playfully. “Morning Cole.” Leah said. Cole sat down at the table beside Peter. “Good morning.” He mumbled. They all bowed their heads and their father Nathan prayed. “Heavenly father, thank you for our new home and our new life that you have provided for us. Please let this food nourish our bodies where they need to be nourished. Amen.” Nathan said. “Amen.” They all echoed.
After breakfast the three kids set off to “make friends” as their mom put it. Most the kids in the village hung out at the edge of the forest and did…well whatever they pleased. “I hate doing this.” Peter said. “It’s so nerve wracking.” Cole nodded. “Yeah, I don’t see why we have to do this. Right Leah? Leah?” He looked around but his sister was gone. “Where’s leah?” Cole asked. Peter pointed. “There, looks like SHE has already made friends.” Peter said solemnly. Leah was talking with another girl. “Oh come on! It can be that easy!” Cole grunted. He spun around intending to walk away but he ran into someone. Cole fell to the ground. “Hey!” He exclaimed angrily. “Oh sorry.” The person said. “I didn’t see you there.” The boy stuck out his hand and pulled Cole to his feet. Cole faced the teenager. The teenager had shortish- long jet black hair and dark brown mischievous eyes and was dressed in all black. “Hi.” The teenager said, sticking out his hand for Cole to shake it. “My name is James Aragorn Riddle but you can call me James.”
Hope you liked it. Remember this is BEFORE TTDOT. However there will be books AFTER TTDOT. Thanks for reading!

The dunes
Chapter 1: dry throats
I open my eyes, all I see is endless desert. I close my eyes tight, I open again. Still, I only see endless desert. Why, and what brought me here? I try standing up, but my legs were to weak. I fell to the ground, surprisingly not feeling any minor pain from the fall. Even tho I hit hard into the sandy rocks, I felt no pain. I felt a sniff in by neck, I turn around. Behind me, a beast taller then me on my knees. It stood there, it’s black and grey fur dazzling in the sun. It’s foot was stuck in a bear trap, possibly set up by poachers. I see the desperation in her eyes, the pain she fells. She is desperate for help, she seems to be young. I see how she’s dragged it far, I tried my best to open the trap. But to no use, it wouldn’t open. “It’s okey, I’ll fix it! Don’t be afraid, I’ll help you!” I remember whispering to it, not sure myself. I pulled as hard as I could, eventually opening the bear trap. She used all the power she had left, pulling out her foot. I saw how deep the wound went, even the slightest pressure on the leg could break the bone off! I gestured for her to lay down and rest, as I thought of how to make the wound heal faster. After all if she decided to stay, a mount would be welcomed. But can’t know for sure that she’ll be able to walk in awhile, I needed to make shelter for the night. At that point, a trader walked past. He saw the horrible shape she was in, he offered help. But he would need payment, I glanced at the bear trap in my hand. “Is this enough?” I asked him, thankfully he nodded. He sat down beside her, as he went to work I started into the sun. Something wasn’t right, but what?
The Sea Of Despair
Chapter ten
The desert ghoul snarled happily as it saw a lightning wyvern wrestling with a sand drake, but it wasn’t them it wanted, it was the people on the wyverns back that caught its attention.
Spark grabbed the sand drake and threw it aside, pinning it down and blasting lightning at its face, burning one side, and then clawing the other. It grabbed Spark and flipped him over, causing Sarah, Aidan and Kalmar to fall off. Then, it slashed at Sparks face, but received a blast of lightning that knocked it backwards.
Aidan heard a screech and turned around, coming face to face with the desert ghoul, which snarled happily.
“What the...!?” Suddenly, the desert ghoul slashed at his side and pushed him backwards into Kalmar. Sarah pulled out her sword and slashed at the ghoul, but it jumped backwards and cackled.
“Eat this!” Kalmar shouted as he threw a rock at the ghoul, hitting it on the head and knocking a few teeth out. Yet it still turned back to them and screeched angrily. Then, at that moment, there was a thunderous roar coming from nearby...
Protectors of Pandora
Chapter 4 ~the deathworm dunes~ (Perfect creature section 😂)
They all turned to the right, shocked and surprised. “who are you?!” Jaxz said. The old vulture who was sitting on a dead tree, looked at him, “names jeffff.” he said. “Jeff?” Jaxz said. “No jeffff!” Jeffff said. “Jeff-ff?” Jaxz said. “Yup, Jeffff.” The vulture said. “Oh.. kay..,” Ceasar said. “You said this place is called hades?”<hay-dees after the Greek underworld> He continued “yup.” Jeffff said, Jeff looked at the volcanoes, the smoke seeping from them was slowing, and the sky was starting to clear. “You should get going, it’s almost sky time..” Jeff said. “Sky time? You mean day?” Jaxz said. “It’s always day here, it’s only dark when the smoke from the volcanoes covers the sky.. that’s why we call it sky time and smoke time.. trust me you might breath better during sky time, but you’ll die of heatstroke if yeh don’t get to the oasis.”
Jeffff said. “Where is this oasis?” The chief said. “It’s in that ravine over yonder —he gestured in front of them— I doubt you’ll make it though.. well, maybe that giant onyc over there.” Jeff said. “Hey! Im not a filthy onyc!” Jaxz said. “Point is if ya don’t got wings ya ain’t making it through the deathworm dunes.. good luck though.” Jeff said, he unfolded his wings and started flying towards to oasis.
They marched through the dunes, they didn’t see any so called deathworms, or any other creatures. When they where halfway through the desert Caesar said. “So does every creature on the ark hide at this oasis during the daytime? And if so how often do you think day is?” “Better question, how hot is it gonna get down here if even the desert creatures are hidin..” the chief said. “Do you see that?” One of the gigantopithicus said. “See what?” The Chief said. Then a deathworm burst out of the sand under the gigantopithicus, he was flung to the side unconscious, “birch!” The chief yelled. then the deathworm looked at him and started towards him. “Guys what’s that!” Jaxz said. A cloud of sand was rushing towards them at rapid speed. “It’s more worms!” Caesar said. “I don’t think so.” Bones said. As the cloud got closer they could see spikey plates and scales, almost forming a fin, and just as the deathworm was about to lunge for the Chief the fasolasuchas burst out of the sand, grabbing the deathworm in its jaws and instantly killing it, the fasola threw the worm to the side and looked at the group snarling with rage. ~to be continued~
Writers note—
I know the fasola isn’t in game yet and we don’t know if it hunts deathworms, though it was hinted that it does, and also c’mon it’s a desert/volcanic ark, did you think I wasn’t gonna add this awesome beast eventually.

The Sea Of Despair
Chapter nine
Lamakar hit the ground with a thud, the sand drake leapt down and pinned him to the ground before he could get up.
“Lamakar!” Kalmar yelled, just as the sand drake ripped open Lamakar’s chest, killing him.
“NOOOOOO!!!!!” Kalmar yelled, choking on his own tears,
“We need to get out of here!” Sarah shouted, and Spark blasted lightning at the cave ceiling, creating a big hole for spark to fly out of.
“I can’t believe that just happened” Aidan exclaimed,
“Me neither” Sarah agreed, “are you ok Kalmar?” She asked.
“No, Lamakar is DEAD!!! I am NOT ok!!!!” He shouted. Suddenly, the sand drake leapt out of the hole and snarled at them angrily.
The Sea Of Despair
Chapter eight
The group hopped onto Sparks back, and he flew into the air, however, they were unaware of a hidden beast in the cave. A sand drake, perfectly camouflaged against the cave wall dropped to the floor, and leapt up to grab Sparks tail, and rip its end off with its teeth. Spark screamed in pain, and slammed his body against the cave wall to knock the sand drake off his tail, nearly knocking Sarah, Aidan, Kalmar and Lamakar off of his back.
“It’s a sand drake!” Sarah yelled, clearly scared.
“What the hell is a sand drake!?” Aidan asked.
“Really nasty thing that lives in caves!” Kalmar answered. Suddenly, the sand drake slashed at Lamakar with its claws, cutting open his back, Lamakar screamed in pain as he fell backwards, plummeting towards the floor at top speed.
“
