Tips & Strategies

What are tips for crystal wyvern? Tips and strategies for crystal wyvern in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Basically if you like the glow of wyverns you would want to learn some stuff I found out so...female wyverns glow brighter if needed to know.. they also seem a bit bigger. Now besides that I wish on tropical wyverns we could swim in with the wyvern it needs a bit work for how they function...but otherwise it’s good!
best way to passive tame is to jump on their back and feed them regular crystals or prime crystals !!
right had bin looking for good baby tips but none being specific enough so i just went ahead and tryed it....this is for ppl who dont have crystal isles.... i aquired(stole) 2 wyvern eggs from a base that was inactive must have left wyvs on to mate.
got a daeodonlvl15 pumped all its lvls into food got it to 20k food. i put 4 troughs down far away from any other dino filled them with cooked meat set the daeodon up for passive heal and got the wyvs out
the low lvl wyv (67) had 500 food witch got it to about 10% mature.... once empty on food its health started to drop but the daedons passive heal keeps it to the top
there is a few seconds were the passive heal isent active but this is fine as the health only drops about 30hp before the heal is re cast
you can also imprint as it wants cuddles and walks so you can reroll if you get prime crystal as an imprint(reroll=pod chuck it back out till cuddles)
i was worried that at 0 food its health would fall while in pod and it doesent :)
If you want a op fleet of wyverns read this.
First, tame about 10 wyverns (Tropical or Ember recommended) and beef them up to about 10k health if you can. Here are the priorities you have to make for the stat points.
Health always comes first so they can last longer
Then stamina so they can fly longer and fight longer
Then melee damage so they can do tons of damage.
I also would recommend a blood wyvern since they drain health easily. For a blood wyvern do health, damage and then stamina.
I hope this helps! Thats how to make a op wyvern.

TRANFERRING IS POSSIBLE! I uploaded all 3 of my passive tamed crystal wyverns into the obelisk & transferred them to Ragnarok & The Island w no issue whatsoever. I didn’t try cryopod transfer, as doing that makes me nervous & I don’t like to risk it. But transferring through the obelisk works.
CRYSTAL ISLES: Bring extra crystal just in case it glitches and you need to restart taming it. To get on it’s back land next to it on a flyer and whistle it to follow then jump up the wing and lay down in between the shoulders. That way when it flies straight up or down you will be good to go.=)
If you can’t feed a Crystal Wyvern that is because someone has already fed it. But fret not for if you knock that Wyvern out it will become tamable again and you will have some primal crystal from knocking it out to tame it with!!! Win Win bump it up!!!
When I was egg hunting, I saw this lv. 215 egg!!!! Unfortunately, it wasn't a blood wyvern,it was an ember. But that didn't stop me from taking it. After hatching it, three babies jumped from the egg, I was given triplet lv.215 wyverns!!!! And to top all that off, they were all females!!!! That day I did the happy dance. Such an incredible day.
FIRST TIP: if u want to know how to make a trap for crystal wyverns watch captain fatdog on YouTube!
Wyvern Rodeo is best way to tame
Ill just sum it all up.
So for starters you need to be lvl 65 to passive tame them. I recommend 4 stone gateways for extra safety but 2 will do just fine. Simply place one in front and one behind it. If you want primal crystal and tame the one youre taking from, simply after taking primal crystals let him kill you and eat your body so that it will de aggro. Destroy the gateway traps if you were using them so it can reach your body. After that follow it, jump on its back, lay down and voila you got yourself a perfect tame. You might take some time to look around as there are usually some already placed traps with wyverns traped so you have some easy crystal.
Laying down is almost a 100% succes, unless like it happened to me, it decides to dive bomb straight into water. Keep some parachutes just in case.
As for raising baby's, piece of cake. My 215's came out with over 1400 food so they last over a full day with that. 2-3 times feeding with 2-3 primal's and youre set.
After you’ve tamed up a breed pair of Crystal wyvs you can breed them. When breeding it does not need a lot of primal Crystal. An easy way to know when you wyv is going to starve is by looking at its food because it’s food drains about 1 food every 1 minute so if the wyv has 1000 food left it will start to starve in 1000 minutes. 1440 minutes in a day so 1440 food is equal to 24 hours before it starts to starve. 🆙 if this was useful
If you have enough primal crystals, you can tame the one you knocked out and took them from. It will
aggro when it wakes up, but as soon and you leave render distance you can come back and it'll be docile again. Or you can just please a sleeping bag nearby and let it kill you when it wakes up.
If you are able to get a egg and fly off but they catch u and u die u can go back and get the egg from ur invitory
Baby crystal wyvern food drains at 1 food every 50 seconds, so multiply the amount of food the baby has left by 50, then divide it by 60 twice to get the amount of hours you can leave it without food, also, 1 primal crystal gives 350 food, so it adds just under 6 hours (which is primal crystals spoil time)
Here’s how I tame my Tropical Wyverns:
1: Get crystal, I recommend a stack, just in case.
2: find your desired wyvern.
3: get on the back of said wyvern, this May take a few tries and I recommend wearing ghillie as you do.
4: start feeding from on the back of the wyvern, try not to fall off or get pushed off.
5: bam! There’s your wyvern! You’re welcome :)

The baby raising timer is off it takes me about 1 hour to 2 for my baby crystal wyverns to grow up so you can just set a timer for an hour-2 hours
They can't carry as many creatures as the original wyverns can, but that's really the only significant difference, and they're perfect for stealing wyvern eggs. A high level one will take less damage than a griffin, fly faster than a snow owl, and have more stamina than a pteranodon. I also use mine to kill alpha raptors and carnos for loot and xp.
Just a heads up they stay aggro on you even if you cross the map and hide (there is an instance on the youtuber bam on his channel video name is hitting ou first juicy raid on crystal isles)
