If you are doing PVP, the tropical is a D.O.T user and useful for picking because the breath uses less stamina than the others. Blood crystal wyverns are tanks, but only if they have decent health damage and stam. Ember crystal wyverns are just portable manual turrets that have d.o.t and a rage meter that increases the breaths d.o.t and initial damage

I would get one of these as soon as you can. They’re very quick and reasonably strong for how easy they are to get

Crystal Isles: These can be found in the desert highlands with the giant mountain. They consist of; Ember, Tropical, and Blood. Tropical wyverns are a passive tame with Crystal and can be found in the beach region.

Valguero: Only ice wyverns And Fire Exist on this map and can be found in a trench in the arctic region. If you go down to a cave in the ice part of the trench, there will be an opening to the fire area.

Ragnarok and Scorched: Can be found in a trench in a specific part of the map. I would use a griffin for their dive bomb or a Petra with good steam so you can do a few barrel rolls to get away.

There is three types of crystal wyvern with their own alphas blood,tropical,and ember tyou can passively tame each one with normal crystal, or get the highest taming effect with primal crystal which you get from killing an alpha, like so this will be at the top for all to see

Shoot harpoon net at crystal wyverns and knock it out for primal crystals

In my opinion crystal wyverns are the quickest and best flyer for the start of the game.

A good way to tame the primal shards is to set up a large bear trap with some honey in the middle then when he comes to the trap put a stone dinosaur gateway around its neck and then run around the back of it and place a second gateway as close to the other as possible. Do this quickly as it will break out.

If your going on primal crystal runs with a crystal wyvern, MAKE SURE IT ALREADY HAS FOOD! Otherwise it will eat the primal crystal you store in its inventory! (Learned this the hard way)

So i was on crystal isles in creative mode and found that big volcano with a blood crystal wyvern. I killed it and looked for the egg, but it was gone! Please tell me where it is if you know. -Boa

These guys can be raised without primal crystal during 3x events if they’re higher level. Will need to reroll with cryo until cuddles at imprint time.

I used 2 primal crystal to raise a baby and no starving

For anyone used to breeding normal wyverns remember that you can also knock out male crystal wyverns too!! Also the higher level you knock out the more primal crystal you get

U can tame the wyverns u take crystal from lay on its back around the neck and tame it

I found it’s quite difficult to actually climb onto her back especially if she’s walking in a forest area with few places where you can jump from. The easiest way I have found to get onto her back is grapple onto her throat or belly, while she’s walking just follow around feeding her crystals or primal crystals if you have, but pretty soon she will fly up. At that point if you haven’t been able to jump onto her, the grapple will keep you in her proximity, however it’s very unsafe to stay this way cuz you will take fall damage when she flies up and down and you don’t quite land on her. At that point you want to keep trying to land on her back while keep feeding her. After a few attempts you should succeed. When you’re on her back the only time when she can knock you off is when she flies against a cliff, which due to the smart game AI, doesn’t happen very often. In that situation the grapple hook will also save you from dying of fall.

Grapple doesn’t aggro these things but if you accidentally punch her after you grappled… yea they will likely kill you if you don’t have a strong tame next to you

Not a tip but a question. Ok, so I’m trying to fully mutate my crystal wyvern and I’m stuck on the wings and I have no idea if the wings are a color region or just come with the body. If you know ^. Thank you

To tame a crystal wyvren.

1) get crystal in last slot of bottom inventory find wyvren, wait for it to land and try about a hundred times to get up it's wing then sit. Crouched on it's back and feed it+make sure you have food for you.

2) get crytsal and get a Brynox ride to wyvren and hop of Brynox real close to wing and your on! helps So much!

3) Use another wyvren (tamed) and park it next to wild one, hop onto wilds back.

I wouldn t recoment breeding Thema its easier to just tame them(because you Need primal cristal)
