As shoulder-mounted companions, they reduce carried weight, provide alerts, and may attack nearby targets, while groups can distract enemies or offer light combat support despite being fragile. Lone Compies are usually curious and nonaggressive, but nearby members can quickly become a dangerous pack, so fight with a spear or torch when prepared or retreat if necessary.
