These guys are nasty. They spawn almost anywhere, even on the starter beach. They are a lot like dilos, except Chalicos are drunk monkey cow things. Only approach if you are confident and strong enough. Stay safe.

Cahlicotherium are not necessarily aggressive, but we become EXTREMELY HOSTILE when approached by the player. I tamed two phiomias on Mobile and sat them outside my base on Passive. Then, I heard them getting attacked by one of these ugly behemoths. In the end, both my phiomias died to this thing, and it killed me and smashed one of the walls on my base. So, they may also become aggressive if they approach your tamed dinos too.

I see quite a few around my temporary peninsula and what used to be my old beach before I made a raft house. I’ve encountered one before I had to delete Ark because my old phone had crappy storage and it completely and totally chased me out of my home. I survived, somehow. I was debating whether my team should take it on since we just had a slight encounter with a carno and completely destroyed it. (Team is: Trike lvl 42, Carbonem 14, Pteranodons 27 and 25, my portable parasaur backpack 37, Dilos 20 and 25) I’m not very high of a level, but I DO have a pet dilo I keep in my raft for my little cousin that I don’t take into battle/keep safe.

Never go close to these things that's for starters tip. Well unless if you want to tame it but good luck and I hope you tame one of these but they're hard

To fight these your self use Dilos a metal shield and a metal sword whenever you see it lure the others away by using a bow then send the dilos to attack it and when it attacks at you use the shield to protect your self then keep attacking it until its dead

For those people saying they don't throw poop you are insulting these creatures. When they throw the poop at you it will show a little icon if you press h it will say poop throw or something like that.

these things are absolute BEASTS do not mess with them I’m warning you

In the mobile version of ark (which I only discovered recently), tamed Chalicotheriums are apparenty immune to the poop throw that the wild versions can do to you. The tamed versions tend to do their agro animation instead of getting the blind effect that would show with other creatures elswhere. I haven't checked this quirk in other platforms, but it seems to be noticeable in mobile....

Do not mess with these guys as a low level they randomly walk into my base all the time and sometimes kill my animals but there is nothing I can do as a low level.

Run in circles when it is chasing after you so it won’t throw dirt/boulders/poop whatever it is then run in one direction if you’re fast enough. I wasn’t fast enough 😐.
