What is a carcharodontosaurus used for? carcharodontosaurus battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
My tribe did this once. Instead of taming a high level carch, they gained its trust. For the 10 minutes, they used its wild stats to absolutely DECIMATE a enemy tribe, including their giga (which was low level) and the massacre got it tamed. They used it to its highest advantage, and some of you should try that too
Has a bloodrage buff that counts kills up to 100 and slowly decays when you don't make kills. At full rage, does x2.75 damage. Gets a 10 sec buff after every kill that greatly increases movement speed and gives stun immunity. Much tighter turn radius than a giga, runs faster, a little better stamina scaling. Seems like either bloodrage or the speed buff heals it a bit as well. Has a roar that zeros out the bloodrage counter. I'm told the roar gives a speed buff to allies. Tail spin attack a similar to a Reaper. Overall, it is comparable to or better than a giga in most respects.
Guys, please don’t mess with player damage in ARK ultimate edition unless you want to accidentally kill your carch, use backup save to get it back, and then accidentally kill it again so that you have no carch anymore.
I definitely didn’t do this, and I definitely didn’t stop playing for a few days because of it.
You definitely can’t hit your own friggin dinosaurs and kill them, either…….
In my opinion, this Dino is amazing. And here’s why it’s better than a giga: It runs way faster than giga, way more stam, and the rage can really stack. The tail attack allows it to hit everything around it, while the giga can only bite in one direction. Overall, this great Dino will DEFINITELY be worth taming :)
I learned this from syntac: when you have it's trust bar filled, ride it then go on a killing spree with the carcha but when the dino your carcha is trying to kill is neutral or aggressive, it will attack the carcha as normal, but it will lower the taming sensitivity, so yeah don't get attacked too much.
This creature might be slightly larger then a giga sense in the dossier it says Helena isn't even sure if it was fully grown and hopes it was. Meaning this thing at most is as tall as a giga or slightly taller. As for the abilities, it has a war cry similar to that of a yutyrannus but we aren't sure what it fully does, a tail sweep which is super powerful, a bite that even if it misses will cause critical levels of damage and the most noteable ability, the bloodlust ability. Just like a shark, it gets more vicious when it tastes blood and in the dossier it says it can take on larger creatures when it is in the bloodlust mode. Meaning the bloodlust mode is an overall attack boost to it. However there is one critical downside to this thing, when tamed it doesn't have a saddle so it may be like a wyvern to where you take all damage thrown at you and or like how shadowmanes are with their natural armor. We just gotta see what the Carchara is like on release.
The blood rage makes this beast’s uses fundamentally different from the giga’s.
The giga is roughly 2x carch. The giga has a rage that can be a contagious disease, making a huge army even deadlier.
The carch is faster, more stam, and has great healing. With 100 blood rage, this beast easily eclipses the giga’s damage. After a kill, they get healing and speed buff.
When in a large group, use giga’s since more carches = less blood rage per carch. But if only one tame is used and there are enough creatures for the carch to eat, the carcharodontosaur is without equal.
⚠️NINTENDO SWITCH PLAYERS: Please try not to put these guys in Cryopods. There’s a bug where your tools/armor/inventory turns invisible and unusable when releasing carchars from Cryopods, only fixable by dying to reset your inventory. ⚠️
If you absolutely have to cryo one, store your items before releasing it to avoid losing everything. Be aware that this still means you lose the empty Crypod the carchar was held in.
