Tips & Strategies

What are tips for carcharodontosaurus? Tips and strategies for carcharodontosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Make giga trap and lead in kill near by gallies and feed carcha the gallies then pick up gate and go on a murder rampage
They spawn on the big mountain if helpful you know what I mean
Does anyone know why this dino would die from being in ankle deep water?
Use 1 baby rex also make Shure it sniffs the food first or else it the meter won't go up
This can drop giga heart idk y and I think this is easier to tame than giga if there is a cliff it can't and is bigger nearby since you just afro with flying dino land on cliff kill something feed repeat until trust is 100 than ride eat rare flower if you have any and go on killing spree
Don't use traps...
I repeat "DON'T USE TRAPS"
Bcz some times they glitch and do not eat, this is very irritating. I was trying to tame a 130 carcha, but this glitch irritated me.
Simplest technique is to do is tame 2-3 low level trikes. Cryopod them and go to carchar location. Then uncryo all trikes, unclaim and kill them. Drag trike's body near the carcha, when sniffing animation starts run for your life, charcha will approach the body and eat it. It will take 2 trikes to fill full trust meter...
Now kill many dinos as possible, and ENJOY THIS BIG BOI
*Giga is still GOAT*
Are these on mobile devices? Because I haven’t seen any in mobile
Fun Fact:
If you’re trying to use a baby Rex/Spino (Takes trust to 100%), it has to be unclaimed. I didn’t know this and got so mad when it wouldn’t eat the baby Rex and then figured out I had to close the game and unclaim it before I try to feed it to this absolute beast. Have fun taming!!
REMEMBER THAT YOU ALWAYS NEED TO LURE IT INTO THE TRAP ON FOOT! Do not do it while on a flier. I just wasted so much of my time before because I kept luring it with my wyvern.
The roar doesn’t get rid of stacks and if you reach 99 it kicks you off, but this is preferred over the timer running out as it loses less efficiency. Also rexes spinos and yutys all give friendship in one feed.
A few things from a guy (me) who spent nightmarish 2h on 145 lvl without gates and cryoed dinos:
- just do it with gates, as you will be torturing yourself because of his broken AI, but remember to make some free space, as when I made him a trap with 4 metal gates he refused to eat as well to bite me, just stood there and did nothing (might be a bug)
- his taming meter nor blue riding meter do not get reduced by attacking or eating wild dinos on his own (haven't tested damage, but getting hurt certainly reduces effectiveness, so it's on the other hand very easy to tame it on 100% effectiveness)
- as there's x3 now on officials, for 145lvl you will be dropped off his back on around 60%+
- not sure if it scales with taming multiplier, but his blue meter above head while feeding him corpses can get filled by (2 trikes) or (2 carbo 1 phiomia/para) (just test anything around as you have nothing to worry because...
- it will never attack you when you drag a corpse, and when it sniffs just drop the body and stay near it around 3-6 times of ur body length away to make it still eat it (as it somehow ignores the body when I instantly run away some distance from it) and be ready to run away (you certainly can do so when it's got an audio of eating)
- if it sniffs the body and goes for a walk (stupid **** AI) you can always safely stay here near the corpse no matter what until 1 of 2 options happens: a) it will be stupid enough to just flee from you 200m+, which will reset the sniff thing b) will make a circle or just walk around you - never stay then IN the body, as it has already sniffed it and after the walk it can get near and eat it, so be ready
- carcha easily gets aggroed on structures - metal things are good, cus it can t destroy them (somehow stops aggroing on before placed structures after first ride)
- be cautious as when it gets enraged (after eating a wild dino) and you don't have a body (to make him peaceful) its speed increases drastically and is able to catch you very very very easily
- don"t stress yourself out about the drops off its back during taming itself, as it does throw you far enough to let you run away from it
- the taming after he drops you off its back does stay for pretty long time no matter how many wild dinos it will hunt during the process, and when it actually starts to decrease, the amounts by which it goes down are very niche
- not sure how hitboxes work, but it broke my leggings after one bite (you can still have 1-2 pieces of flak on yourself and live a bite if you have 200hp like me)
- during riding I realised that everything of trike size and smaller give around identical taming values (killing armies of meganeuras and titanomyrnas are very stonks) (remember I was dealing with wild dinos only)
- if you find yourself on terrain with low to medium amounts of dinos around you don't have to worry, as the time it gives you while riding is exactly enough
On the center:
Spawn at top right volcano sometimes in center (or gigas, their spawns are interchangeable)
*Can also spawn top left snow biome (usually left side under cliff area near cave or bottom (left) ish area)
*Can also spawn right side of bottom snow (only if the others are blocked usually)
*Doesn’t need, nor should use a trap, get an argy and pick and kill babies, kill then a decent amount out of vision range of the carch then bring it to the carch (drag body), it’ll sniff then eat.
*(wild or tamed rex, paracer, and cerato babies insta 100% worthiness)
(All besides spawns are the same, the island they usually spawn on the volcano, near metal mountain, or on one of the snow mountains (usually blue ob)
Honestly, my tribemates and I have had minimal luck and low taming efficiencies using the trap method.
So we use the cryo baby method or have a two team, one feeding, one killing and dragging who switch off to keep a constant flow of corpses to an uncaged Carchar. You have time, not long so move fast, to get out of kill range after feeding the Carchar solo. For the tag team, usually the other player is bringing in another corpse as the first is finishing a feeding and the Carchar goes from eating to immediately back into its sniffing animation.
Using this method we have had more than a little luck getting 98+% efficiency with Carchar taming. Not to mention, no prep work building a cage, taunting the beast in and having it go on a foodstrike when you're trying to become friends! Frustrating and SO much time lost!
Hope this helps!
If you fail to fill meter up on high level car, just give it another baby rex and hop back on!
Does the lower lvl need as much to kill as a high lvl when riding it?
Don't fock with this dino it killed my while 4 man team and 5 argintavis
Fax: if you really wanna see it. Actually it isn’t that hard just enable stuff to do this just type gmsummon “carcha_character_bp_c” [level]
