Just saying if you trap the Carchar it can sometimes bug out and not eat the corpses you give it then you have to go out of render of it and back in to make the glitch stop. I tame a Carchar by getting a really tanky tame then whistle passive then let the Carchar attack it while you get the corpses if you didn’t cryo one of your tamed creatures and threw them out already then you just feed the Carchar withought it lagging. This is how I tamed my first Carchar so I hope this helps and I know it’s rather late to type this but I just thought why not.

These are the best dinos in the game. They one hit brontos, and are better than gigas. A must tame for end game players.

If i am right it means that it has the power of a yuty, the power of a megatherium but with everything and over time and is the size of a giga (more or less) this could easily replace some certain tames in boss fights or PvP raids,

but the power could easily be nerfed or they could easily make it very hard to tame as a balance.

This will probably be a new go to creature

It’s easy to tame. Trap it and feed it a baby diplo, baby rex, anything with a high drag weight (preferably over 450) that you can carry. You do the feeding process by dragging it close to where it won’t eat it but it will sniff it. When it does the sniffing animation you will leave the carcass close enough to where it can eat it. It will show a friendship meter above and when it’s green you can ride it. When you ride it, you go on a killing spree until it’s tamed. Look up a tutorial on yt if this wasn’t specific enough or if you are a visual learner

If you trap one feed it 1 baby yuty because they give full friendship then ride it and things that attack back will ruin taming effectiveness and baby wyverns are best for taming it up. I hope you enjoy your new friend

The trust part of taming goes by drag weight. A rex will give it 100% trust, Yuty is 75%, Stego and Trike are 50%. On the killing part of the taming it goes by XP. So higher level and bigger dinos tame faster. Just avoid taking too much damage and roar at 99 kills or it will kick you off and have to do friendship again. Good luck and hope this helps.

Just as a tip for the second stage I would recommend unclaimed diplos since they don’t do damage you won’t be at risk of losing that precious taming effectiveness as well as that they give a lot in that second stage!

They spawn basically every giga spawn so in rag they spawn in the highlands desert and 30 20 ish

Not sure if it was just me, but I think there’s a minimum size of creatures that you can feed to the Carcha. I found that out when I tried feeding it a Doedicurus. Hope this helps!

Do you need the saddle for the taming part or not I’m just wondering?

If you've got one trapped, and it sniffs but doesn't eat, for whatever reason it doesn't like being trapped??? (Imagine that). You can try leaving the area, and letting it re-render but it may not work. My tribe and I ended up having to let it out of the trap, leaving to let everything re-render, and dragging corpses over to it (while it was running around free - so yes, mildly terrifying), then proceeding with the tame.

Pro-tip for feeding: one of the tribe guys is obsessed with breeding and mutations so we had some very OP rexes. We just cryoed abunch of babies, let it out (with cryosickness is easier), unclaimed and killed it, and it literally only took 1 baby rex to let us start riding. Then repeat to let the Carch eat the corpses while you ride, and viola. Your very own spikey giga.

Depending on the server, you can also use baby rexes or spinos to tame one (bringing up it's trust) that can make it go full or most of the way (again depending on the rates) so it'll be much faster then. Just make sure ya trap it 1st

My taming Method:

1. Trap him

2. Kill any Dino and carry it to him

3. Kill BABY Dinos

4. Kill more (Baby) Dinos

5. Finish

Wear Flak,use shadowmanes for friendly meter and there ya go .

THIS THING IS NOT A KNOCKOUT TAME! Its a passive tame, all you gotta do is use a giga trap using metal gates (don't use stone or weaker) to surround it, once you trap it kill any creature that you can drag and bring over to the carchar, once you get closer it'll turn towards you and sniff the corspe you brought, when it sniff just drop the corpse and it'll eat it and a taming bar will appear above it, just keep bringing it corpses until that bar is filled, once its filled you'll be able to ride it without a saddle, you'll have 10 minutes to kill as much creatures as possible to increase its taming, once the second taming bar gets filled it'll be tamed and you'll get dismounted so be careful.

NOTE: Wild Carchar has around 70K health very similar to the giga.

As of right now it's out. The way to tame it is by trapping it with metal gates and feeding it dino corpses (the bigger the better). Once you do that a hexagon thing will appear. keep feeding it until hexagon turns green then ride it and kill everything you see. Bam! You got a new dino buddy!
