Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a burrowbuck? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a burrowbuck.
HOW TO TAME BURROWBUCK:
1: get about 10-15 rockarats to feed the burrowbuck.
2: than go up to it in ghille and you must be crouching when approaching or it will run away! And passively feed it the carrots.
3: Then it teleports away and repeat the process until tamed!
So don’t make a trap to tame it in it just doesn’t work
BONUS
Do NOT interact with the burrows around the burrowbuck because they are traps and you will get stuck.

The burrow is a passive tame. A lot of people say you need ghilli to tame them but you don't. I tame them with my tek suit on. Just crouch and approach them slowly, have superior kibble in your last slot on the right of your hot bar. When you see the feed burrow in blue hit the triangle button to feed it (Ps5) Quickly back away as they will teleport and you will get blinded by sand, track it and wait for it to become hungry again. Rinse and repeat
Here's all you need to do... put extraordinary kibble in last slot, slowly approach while coaching. Stopping every once and a while, then get close to butt, press feed and voila! Having ghili suit of course! You should be good!
These are like any passive tame as far as the action goes. Put the highest quality best taming food in your last slot and when close enough feed it
Now to get close enough to feed, you do need full grille and to be crouched and walk up behind it will let you get close enough.
Be prepared as it does jump/runaway after each feed, this is normal just track it back down and repeat.
It can jump into trees and cliff sides and 100s of meters away so be prepared to follow and kill other Dino’s it may get near.
You'll hear people say that you need gillie and cactus broth to tame these guys. It may make your life easier to do so, but I tamed a level 145 without either. Just crouch and approach them from behind. They love carrots, so start a farm early and you'll get one of these guys very quickly in your playthrough. Sneak up behind them and feed. Once they eat they'll teleport away. Follow them and wait to feed them again until they dig a burrow (it won't let you feed them if they don't have a burrow yet). Rinse and repeat. WARNING: if you get too close to their burrow you'll fall in and be immobilized. If this happens there's a chance that the burrowbuck will attack you. If you hit it back you'll lose taming effectiveness and have to start all over. Try not to get too close to their burrows if you can help it.
Crouch and walk up to it then feed it. It will then do a burrow animation and will jump (invisible) in the opposite direction of where you’re standing. Can make it easier if you aim it toward a cliff so it will just bounce back to you instead of landing far away. Rinse and repeat. If you or a wild creature trigger its burrow traps it will lose taming effectiveness. If you trigger the burrow trap while it is close enough it will attack you.
I’ve noticed taming a 140 it was 1 min and 33 sec in between feeds
Using ghillie crouch up to bunny and using extraordinary kibble feed it and walk away it is the most effective way, I found having a desmo near by (not to close you’ll spook it) is handy if you’re taming anywhere near water because they tend to run everywhere an end up in water.
Also if it’s injured during taming you’ll loose all taming and have to start over, each time you do this the effectiveness goes down
Why everyone say you need gillie, you do not, naked or not, with berries, or carrots, crouch follow, if it turns around, stop moving untill it turns away from you, feed it as it stops, I tamed many, all on official small tribes while solo
Passive tame, carrots in last slot, sneak up and feed.
Gullie suit, cactus broth, crouch down, follow it, feed it and the you’ll have a new personal teleporter.
Passive tame like the Equis sneek up behind it and feed it kibble. If it sees you it goes underground.
Passive Tame: Superior Kibble and above or Rockarrot for best results. Sneak to approach. Ghillie and Cactus Broth not necessary but may skip the jump away phase after feeding (during taming). Beware, Burrowbuck get aggressive when near their babies, which can make taming annoying. Falling into a burrow trap will also make you lose taming efficiency so watch out!
***YOU DO NOT NEED GHILLIE***
Just slow crouch to it when it stops moving, stop when its moving and once youre close enough feed it. *Im on a 15x so im not sure what happens after the first feed*
Use gloom invisibility to tame no need for ghillie
Just find one with a baby, that's how i got mine
If your in-progress-tame Burrowbuck wanders off into the water where it just bounces in place, you can use a raft (by standing on the raft edge near the creature to spook it) or a Rare Flower. That will cause the Burrowbuck to aggro on you - leave the render and return once the effect has worn off and the hare has calmed down.
Also, always remember Burrowbuck will run the opposite side of where you are, in order to escape you - so stand with your back to the water to make the Burrowbuck pull away from it. You cannot interact with Burrowbuck if either you or the creatire is swimming!
After feeding, look at the burrow in the direction you want it to flee. Almost always goes in that direction about 100 meters.
Gillie suit and be careful of other holes use kibble or carrots
Use binoculars and track it. Carrots are ideal since you can feed them faster. After each feed step away or you'll get sucked into the burrow and then it'll attack you and lose effectiveness. It will move 50-150 meters away depending on the space it has around it.
If it jumps into a cliff or tree it can lose effectiveness by fall damage.
