These guys are extremely annoying, but equip a torch and just start swinging. The fire destroys these guys no problem regardless of level.
They should add a bug net like the fish basket but the bug net catches small insects

Just switch to third person mode (hold select button), and whack at them with any melee weapon. Torch is effective, but does not have the durability for encountering 10 consecutive swarms js
