I can only say that this guy is a legend. No one can win them in sea if you breed them with 3x stats. 160% speed and nearly 30k hp is really sick. You can easily clear any underwater cave.

Do think of a solid strategy of killing mantas and maybe eels before attempting to tame it. I lost 6 sharks 1 spino 3 dolphins trying to tame it.... Not at the same time tho. If I had gathered all the battle forces it could have worked

Special trait: mantas and ichys will surround the basilosaurus, protecting it. (When you feed the basilosaurus on a non-water creature, like a sarco, the mantas will attack, so be careful). Pro tip: find them on herbivore island, in the bay.

I tamed one and it started making oil but the oil is purple but I take it out and more is made it looks like tuth oil

In ARK: SURVIVAL EVOLVED MOBILE, these guys can also make oily ink like the tusoteuthis(I am not sure with the other arks though). Refinable too already. Need not taming a tusoteuthis anymore ‘cause this guy does that work. Got one named Dolphy and he produces oily ink every few minutes. Max stack is probably only 29.

The mantas don’t follow it to proteck it they follow to get the food they leave behind

Produce oil, immune to electro chock

The best marine mount if it was faster

Mobile passive taming for this guy is easy,

1. Get a Ichthyosaur

2. Hit the basilosaurus once and guards will flee

3. Hunt megalodon and get their prime meat via pickaxe

4. Passive tame basilosaurus

These guys are very good defense and I found mine around herbivore island.

They're the safest most care free marine mount you can get. Only down side is they're slow

Here’s a tip! Take a Baryonyx out and stun all of the creatures around it! Try not to hit the Bassey, all the others will follow you and you can easily stun and kill them all! Have kibble or preferred taming method in you last item slot! Put you Barry on follow and just feed ‘em! 😌👍🏻 HAPPY TAMING!!

Very easy to trap and tame on Crystal Isles.

There's a river on the west end of the redwoods that's considered ocean so they'll spawn in it. Just gate off each end to trap the basil, kill whatever's in the water, and you don't even need a water tame.

I’ve tried to take these twice and failed both times. Damn Mantas. They are my second least favorite Ark water creature.

If you are like me, a noob who is scared of literally every dino in ARK, then you can find these guys stuck against rocks in the ocean in the shallower waters, there might be Megs near by so be careful, just feed it raw meat you will have a new pet whale that sings.

Keep in mind that the second time the Dino eats it takes about 5 mins to eat again but after then will be a lot quicker

Want lots of fish meat? Well you’re in luck! Tame one of these bad boys and your set! (Warning mantas and megs follow these and will attack u when taming) once you got it tamed mount your fishy friend and kill Mantas,Fish,Megs,etc and you can get loads of fish meat! (Literally I just killed like 5 mantas and 2 megs and now I have 11 stacks of raw fish meat )

Just tamed a Bali named it basil and she faught off like 8 megoladon

The basilosaurus is the king of the ocean. Nothing can stop a perfect tamed 150. Really good to farm black pearls off alpha mosas n squids.
