Not everyone is willing to tame Basilisk, and— especially on Aberration— hunting them may be preferred when searching for the rare Alpha variant. So here are some tips for hunting Basilisk on Aberration, from someone who’s spent an ungodly amount of time doing so!:

- A mid- to high-level Rock Drake can take down mos Basilisks with ease. A Spino also works especially well. You don’t need any special equipment besides Hazard Gear, though spare Hazard helmets may be preferred as they block the poison breath.

- If you’re on Singleplayer, it may be helpful to mark Basilisk spawn areas using a few standing torches. Angler Gel is my go-to fuel, but only because my Spino loves eating the Anglers in the Crystalline Swamp.

- Each Basilisk spawn “area” typically contains 1-3 wild Basilisk hidden around. If you can’t seem to find them, don’t forget to look up! They can spawn on Aberration’s higher terrain or even trees on occasion.

- I’ve encountered a minor bug in Mobile SP where some Basilisks are especially “lazy” and don’t emerge from their burrows at all, even when approaching on foot. They can still be forced to emerge with Grenades, but it’s just something to watch out for.

Is no one going to talk about the stone weight reduction?? It gets a 75% weight reduction on stone and it's super fast with heavy weight. Fill up on stone and take it to a grinder to make spark powder a breeze

I have tamed dozens of these. Set timer for 4 mins 20 seconds. Use ravager. Soon as it eats first egg start timer, drop next egg at 4 min and repeat. Kite it safely but DO NOT lose aggro or you lose efficiency. Don’t even let it go underground. I got a 145 with 97% effiency using rav. Multiple helmets and stim on ur tame to keep awake. Force feed when basil eats egg.

WARNING!:Do NOT, i repeat, DO NOT, bury underground and go underwater. Even if it is the smallest little stream or pond that might not even register as water, as it will glitch your basilisk and you will lose it. It will be burried underground and will not respond to whistles.

We used it for the Alpha Rockwell on Abberation (ASA), thing Angry worm killed the Boss nearly alone with the spite attacks, we other 2 guys on Reaper and Megalo was just running around. High level and saddle +100

Guys the rhyniognatha can pick up the basilisk i found it cool to be able to pick up a giant snake

Don’t put more than 4,000-4,500 weight into a Basilisk, as you will hit the 300 item slot cap (of stone) before you hit the weight limit.

Unfortunately, it can only breed on ascended.

IMPORTANT! It must be at full hp to be tamed

Easiest and most cost effective way to Tame a Basilisk.

You need:

1x small shoulder pet ( I prefer Bulbdog but use whatever you want)

1x Metalfoundation

Enough eggs to Tame your Basilisk (check Dododex for thst based on your settings)

1x Eather Tek suit or Crossbow with grappling hooks

How to:

After you found your desired Basilisk go as close as you can to it without waking it up.

Place your shoulder pet on the ground and then place the foundation on top of it so that it's below the foundation (careful as sometimes if you go a bit away from the foundation the light pet will popp back on top of the foundation so check if it did)

Throw the eggs on top of the foundation.

Now get close to the Basilisk and lure it towards the foundation. Once it is near the foundation Eather jump with the Tek suit and fly far above him or grapple with the hook. The basilisk will loose Interest in you but will aggro on the Bulbdog and try to bite it but it can't hit it. It will remain there forever and never even bother to burrow. It will eat the egg on its own when it wants to (be careful of other Dinos as they might aggro on The pet too and due to that hit the basilisk.)

Now just wait and voilà you for a Basilisk.

I don’t know if this is going to help anybody, but my partner and I have tamed three different Basilisks with Fertilized Fire Wyvern Eggs. On Fjordor, we would use the arches from above the Basilisk, and drop the eggs down below to them. This was done by the volcano where Gigas can also be found.

On aberration these guys spawn at the portal

When it buried underground it looks like plants coming out of the ground so watch out. You so know what I mean when you walk up on one.

Freed my glitched one stuck in water by disabling special attack, setting target range high, and enabling aggressive when a wild dino was near. He popped out of the water and slithered to eat the wild dino.

I wish it was a knock out tame and you just put eggs in its inventory like the oviraptor

The exact time between feedings is 4 minutes and two seconds. Please fix.

Poison blast will still kill you in god mode, even when set to invulnerable…
