What are tips for basilisk? Tips and strategies for basilisk in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
It eats rock Drack eggs and magmasoure eggs!!!!
For taming it is recommended to use a trap with foundations so it doesn't burrow. Remember they can fit through small dino gates.
Keep in mind when taming one of these beasts, that the taming calculator is off on the time interval. Considering that you need to start the taming sequence off with 1 Rock Drake or Magmasaur egg, you need to knock that 4 minutes and 10 seconds off whatever total time DodoDex tells you for your taming settings. I lost some levels on a max level Basilisk because of this fact that I wish I would have known. If you think I'm right, let people know.
Feeding intervals are actually 4:34 when taming.
Physically impossible to knock one out. Its torpor immune
Is a pain to tame i kept getting one shot bcuz its a 120
They also eat wyvern eggs on Lost island, bit sure about the other maps! !!REMEBER THIS!!
Basilisks can now be tamed with fertilized voidwyrm eggs!
People think that you can only tame basilisks on ab and gen 1
But you are incorrect
On gen 2 you can feed them Voidwyrm eggs to tame
Will not tame on 3 magmasaurs eggs on 3x
Tek suit in gen 2 doesn’t let the spit hurt you. Trap them in a 3x3 foundation, 3 doorframe high trap for an easy tame. Takes fert voidwyv eggs :)
If you have a tamed basilisk and you for whatever reason, end up putting fertilized eggs in a feeding trough,it will still eat fertilized eggs even after you tamed it. I genuinely did not know until I learned the hard way..
Trap a light pet on the floor under a foundation so it keeps aggro and fly above it with your federation suit, then drop voidwyrm eggs and you have an easy basilisk game on hen 2 on gen 2
As of Genesis Pt 2, you can tame basilisks with Voidwyrm Eggs
The reason wildcard wont make them eat crystal wyverns eggs is because crystal eggs are easy to get. You passive tame wyverns and breed them, boom is basilisk. No, its a balance. Not tryna hate btw
It’s kinda like taming a Titanoboa, just bring a few extra eggs and a little more caution!
So I spent the weekend learning the light pet/metal foundation taming method. A couple of helpful tips for those interested in taming these using this method that the videos don’t mention:
1. The basilisk has to aggro you not your mount or it will not tame. It is important to use a large tame that normally won’t make the basilisk pop out of the ground because these are tames they don’t naturally aggro when hidden.
Dismount, aggro the basilisk and then remount before it hits you! This is important. If it hits you it will continue to aggro you and not tame! Kite the basilisk to the foundation with your mount to avoid getting hit.
2. Carry some throwaway podded tames like low level moschops. Use these to make the basilisk pop out of the ground so you can see it’s level. That way you don’t have to waste foundations. Let it kill them and then bury itself again.
3. Clear the area of other wild dinos before taming. If it gets distracted by a random wild it will stop taming.
