What is a baryonyx used for? baryonyx battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
To the guy that was wondering how to do tail spin on mobile, I don’t know but I do know that it needs to be in water. Oh and also, if you want answers on how to do something, don’t ask on Dododex because there is no ‘reply’ feature so it is completely coincidental that you find the response. Instead google it or ask around on Reddit or something.
They are very underrated. While they aren’t great on land in the water they have a stun locking tail spin which can stun those eels and even Alpha Megalodons and are one of the best aquatic mounts. There is also an Aberrant Variant of the Baryonyx which spawns on Aberration, Valguero, Crystal Isles, and Fjordur. The Aberrant Baryonyx is better than the regular Baryonyx
These are great for doing fish meat runs. Most water mounts such as Basils, eat fish meat as fast as they can gather it. Others such as spinos simple are a pain to use in underwater combat due to turn radios and hit box. Baryonyx gathers fas much fish meat as a spino, but better due to its stun ability and unlimited oxygen and maneuverability. Just swim right up to a megladon, stun it, chomp. Rinse and reappear. Best at fish meat gathering in my opinion. Never underestimate their stun ability!!
On Mobile, if you're traversing the island always travel near water cause they recover less stamina when their foots on water. And if something high level chasing you, just swim to deep water and they'll outrun almost every carnivore unless it's a Sarco cause wild Sarco seemed to have as a turbo on water. A must have tame for caving due to it's wide AOE damage and strong knockback. They can also protect you on Arthro's spit attack. And don't forget the spin attack that can stun even a pack of Megalodon.

I just tamed my first baryonyx. After seeing all the video in internet saying they are king of seas took it for the first time in water and saw jelly fishes so went near them. Then end of story. I was happily started the morning to harvest metal and Crystal with him .Sad He’s gone now.
Please don’t ever go near the jelly fishes with any Dino. I can’t even take back the saddle now .
I have played Ark for about five years, and for four years people told me that these guys weren’t worth crap. But one day about a year ago I was playing PvP with my friends and I decided to tame one to see if it really was as bad as people said. I instantly knew they were my new favorite tame and I started breeding; I became the most powerful person on the server.- Allen
My three barys disappeared the other day, and I was going to teleport them back after not being able to find them, until I decided to get on my dunkleosteus to get some oil. I found my three barys at the bottom of the ocean surrounded in dead megalodons and mantas, and each one of them had over fifty biotoxin in their inventory. I’m guessing three of these guys are even enough for some overpowered blue jellyfish🤣
