Thinking of breeding these guys into the ultimate cave running monster, for however long I've played ark now is the only time I've really focused on this guy. Tamed a level 120 one plus the taming bonus up to 140, used entry dexes to level it up faster now at level 160, after killing 3 alpha megalodons by just stun locking them and killing em slowly then leveled up it's attack and health before focusing on speed.

This animal is a fantastic mount in caves; if its health is low, it can regain it extremely quickly by entering the water and killing some fish. It only eats fish meat, can live underwater, and fits into most caves.

This has become one of my favorite dinos, in it's class it's excellent as a mount or even spam. There's a stun effect to it's hits. But it should half the weight of fish to be honest. Like to push this to the top. Let people know! WildCard!!?

The baryonyx is great for getting raw fish meat and raw prime fish meat

They don’t eat RAW MEAT they only eat fish

These animals do wonderfully for caving expeditions! They especially work nicely in undersea caves as well. All you gotta do is pump into health and melee, find a high level Bary and you’re golden. Imprinted ones are a nice bonus but the one I use was wild caught at lv. 145. Just finished the cave containing the Artifact of the Clever with my Baryonyx, Greenbeard. He slew many bats and spiders. He is my indispensable caving mount and made it a breeze. Plus if you fall into water, that tail spin makes short work of most aquatic critters. Please, Wildcard, never nerf this tame. 100/10, a wonderful and good boi for any survivor to have.

Waited hours for a baryonyx to heal up then remembered a tip that killing fish heals them up fast!

Argies can carry it on mobile arrow to the sky to let people know

Praise to Barry (Who was killed by a meg while 1v5 ing defending me ). This man was fast and agile enough to take me around the map, and I got a good health one so it could tank while I tranqed from it's back or ran. I got the entire border of the map on this man. There a pretty easy tame too just fill it with tranq arrows and they EAT FISH BTW.

Like the quetz... a Baryonyx cannot swim up and down but only at an angle 👍 Don’t make the same mistake I did and go to the bottom of the sea looking for basilo’s without scuba gear 😔 #drowned

Great mount for the swamp. Riding in 1st person is just below the tree line. It's tall enough to avoid some kaprosuchus leaps. It has a high torpor to survive the snakes/frogs. Eating raw fish helps it heal super fast. It has a good sprint speed, can jump and can swim. My new favorite mount

Significantly better than a raptor or carno.PLUS this thing can swim and its very VERY useful, and can be a great help in the first cave you have to explore in the south.(forgot the name of the cave)

YOU YES YOU need to tame it it has a stun,bite,taunt Well the taunt ok but you need to tame it its fast it can curve well it awesome 👍👍

For peoples that said barry cant go to lava cave,you are absolutely wrong.I already completed lava cave with barry dozen of times.

Very useful creature, I knocked out three argies a Rex, and an archaeopteryx while on its back on the mountains by the redwoods, I also killed a Rex with it (it is only level 38) and 15-20 raptors and sabertoothes within probably 5-10 minutes. If you are wondering why I knocked out three argies read my depressing tips under newest, Argentavis. My Baryonx is my best tame on this profile. FYI if you want to tame a Rex make sure you kill any Dino’s it aggros first. A deodicoris (I know I misspelled it) killed my knocked out Rex.

Absolute must have game for beginners like me. One killed my para, so I reloaded the save and headed over with some tranq arrows and fish meat. Perched on a rock and he was out fast. Starve tamed and it was pretty easy. Only difficulty was keeping the dilos away. Afterwards I was thinking it’d be just another average beginner tame- but it wasnt. Toxin, my bary, is a real trooper. I once took our houseboat into the swamps, just messin around. He took out three sarcos and another bary. Later took on a meg and three mantas at once. Seriously, best thing ever.

The spin move can stun Alpha Megalodons. Makes for a trivial fight. Just watch out for jellyfish. RIP Klaptrap.......

These dudes are beasts in the south west cave. I cleared the whole cave with one saddled level 28 Bary.

Mines name is lulu and she’s one of my best Dino’s. They may be small but their a beast on land and in water. Don’t underestimate the bary. Easily one of my favourite Dino’s and one of the best cave mounts👍

Not sure if anyone new about this, but apparently they can heal well when they kill and eat fish, specifically Salmon, Pihrannas, and Coelocanths
