Utility Tips

What is a baryonyx used for? baryonyx battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
They hit fast, with force, they tear off flesh, they stun-lock creatures, nothing can hit u if u spam its attack, its fast agile on land and in water, can jump a lot and is very useful, eats fish so taming it is fairly easier because u do nit think of jerky or kibble or stuff so i would recommend, mostly in rivers and in swamps.
I wish luck to everyone who attacks it without a backup strong dino like some 50 lvl raptor or some carno. I used my carno Nexus she is great for protection and if you want a carno just climb on a high rock and just do theese 3 steps:
1) reload
2) aim for the head
3)shoot and again from 1 until it falls, you can use this with the barys too but if he is not so close just be chill and if he is low lvl its a piece of cake
Probably one of the best general use non flyer mounts in the game. Fast land and water speed, quick stamina regen, good health, decent damage. Small enough to use in some caves like the southern cave. Absolute terror in the water and it has no oxygen meter. Very easy to tame and can be found in the swamp or around some rivers. High maneuverability on land and in water.
Get yourself one.
These tiny bipedal spino wannabes are actually pretty good tames if you are not ready to get a spino. Unlike the spino they are pretty much a guaranteed tame once it’s knocked out since it’s torpor drains slowly, unless it gets killed. Don’t make the same mistake I did when taming these they eat exclusively fish, regular meat won’t work. This also applies to already tamed ones, if you feed it raw meat instead of raw fish meat, it will refuse to eat it. What I like to do since I don’t have access to spino saddles for like another 20 levels, is just to ride my bary and get my spino to follow me around, and make it target ennemis, this works out surprisingly well and I can always get my bary in to help if something goes wrong
Baryonyx is a great tame for caves, but learn from my mistakes. A wild-tamed baryonyx will do the job for the first couple caves, but it can get pretty dicey after that. My advice: Breed two Baryonyx together and imprint the baby. Imprinting grants an increase to stats. When riding your imprinted dino, you also recieve a buff that gives your dino +35% damage resistance and +25% damage output. It doesn't sound like much, but it is an absolute game changer.
Try it out for yourself. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. =)
If you want to do a cave tame one of these 1: they can breath underwater good for an underwater cave
2: Small enough to fit in most small parts of the caves
3: A powerfull creature overall for deleting all of the cave creatures
Other: underwater spin attack stuns medium size creatures and dismounts othe players
Final note:thank you all who saw my tip and üq so more players can do the caves better and fight those bosses!
Most things a baryonyx can do a sarco can do just as effectively or better here is a list of what they are good for.
Baryonyx:
Pros: fast on land, can fit in almost every cave, has a bigger attack aoe, can stun things in water, can be bola'd and takes less tranqs to tame, can build up speed by spam jumping
Cons: slow in water, slightly weaker, can't stun big dinos (mosa, ect), usually needs a pen to tame, only eats fish, saddle unlocked at a higher level, saddle requires a smithy to craft
Sarcosuchus:
Pros: Fast in water, best turning radius in the game, instantly regains stamina underwater, stronger than bary, lower level saddle, can be "ridden" without the saddle, slow speed when wild makes it easy to tame
Cons: slow on land, small attack aoe, deathroll is kind of useless, can accidentally knock itself out by lunging/deathrolling, takes longer to tame, there is a glitch where occasionally sarcos will die or almost die when they exit water, has a hard time hitting bugs
