Why do they attack me and other herbivores if they only eat fish meat?

Seems as of the new TLC you can no longer pick them up with an Argentavis and they seem to be larger.

Mostly found throughout all the rivers on the island. Not found on Scorched Earth.

Please please PLEASE make a trap for these guys. They are hella fast and can run away before you can shoot them again

Here’s how to tame a bary

Step 1 get raw fish meat or raw prime fish meat

Step 2 get a cross bow or a bow (I used a cross bow )

Step 3 find a bary and get on high ground so it doesn’t get you (you can build a trap but I just did the high ground)

Step 4 knock it out

Step 5 put the raw fish meat or raw prime fish meat in its inventory

Step 6 wait till it tames

Now you have a bary I hope this helps:)

When I first tamed a Baryonyx I found it very helpful to build a trap with a bait dinosaur inside (something like a low level para). Once you get out of the way, it will aggro to the bait and run into the trap. I tranq’d it before the para died, which was impressive because the para was lvl 10.

It's a great fish harvester and it tames fast I like it

Extremely useful, find them near almost any river bank. Lure them out of the water (do NOT try to fight them in the water, you will 100% die) and bola them. Then either knock them out with a few hits or hit it with a tranq arrow. We use them as protection when traveling, and they have takes out everything from a pack of raptors to a therinosaurus to carnos.

I just did my first dungeon and got Baryonyx and Mammoth implants which one should I Tame? up for Baryonyx down for Mammoth 5 votes decide.

For Mobile users, the Barry CAN be picked up by the Argi.

Baryonyx can no longer be carried by Argentavis. Quetzal or above is needed to carry him. Baryonyx drag weight has been increased.

1. Find a Baryonyx

2. Climb on a rock

3. Shoot it with tranq arrows

4. Feed it fish me

5. You have a Baryonyx

I don't know why this isn't a tip from anyone else but once tamed it only eats fish.

SomeGamerGuy’s 101 to tame a baryonyx!

What you will need:

4 stone foundations

Although I haven’t tested it with this low, 8 stone doorframes

2 stone ramps

1 crossbow with full durability, primitive is ok, though I recommend higher tiers.

50-70 tranq arrows just to be safe.

Find yourself a nice and high level baryonyx, a 120-150 is good.

Place the stone foundations in a 2x2 frame near the baryonyx, this will be the base of your trap.

Place the stone doorframes onto the frame to make it look like a cage.

Then, place the ramps pointing to where the baryonyx is, for example if the baryonyx is north of the trap, place the ramps facing north.

If you did this correctly, the ramps should be able to lead the baryonyx into your trap, which should be a cage without the top.

Shoot the baryonyx to get its attention, and lead it into the trap by running into it and walking out since the doorframes are too small for the baryonyx to walk past.

Tranq it out on the head nice and easy.

Now this part is important.

Baryonyx is a strict fish eater.

Feed it rap prime fish meat or kibble for the best results. I BELIVE its regular kibble you feed it.

And there you go! The saddle should be unlocked at level 40-50.

The baryonyx can tail sweep underwater, but it just ended to be touching water in ASE.

It is a good mount for underwater, especially early game.

Please note that some of this info may be incorrect. Please look for other tips if you want to know how to set up a trap, since I was probably kind of vague.

Honestly this is the Best tame i've ever had.i currently have 3 rex.spino tapejara and argy. But i have to say this this guy is the best dino ark ever made. hands down.mine could outrun a raptor on land.almost megapiranha on water..also this medium shaped dino helped me overcome my fear for caves.whether its artho or titanboa. Due to its high torpor enduring and decent weight and melee damage. Cave huntings were easier for me.. Until i lost him on by mistakely jumping into Lava In LAVA CAVE. Will miss u alot Barry Allen.

TIP:I DONT CARE IF U R ON EARLY OR MID GAME.TAMING THIS BEAST IS A MUST.JUST REMEMBER THEY ONLY EAT FISH SO AFTER KNOCKING HIM OUT GO TO THE NEAREST RIVER TO FETCH SOME FISH MEAT.
