I've just tamed one, LV 30, with just a club (yes, I died a countless times 😅😅),but it was next my base, and I am lv5, what should I do ?

On Mobile, Baryonyx’s torpor drops really fast, so you should probably pump in a little narcotic or bio toxin even if Dododex says you don’t have to just in case. I had a lvl100 taming, and lost it when I went to get some extra bio-toxin from my base on the other side of the map. By lost, I meant it COMPLETELY disappeared.

Baryonyx are hostile and will chase not only you but other animals that aren’t fish. SO WHY CANT WE FEED IT MEAT. I would think they are hostile to only fish if they only ate fish but I was wrong.

Can't use normal bola anymore I learned the hard way.

Get it with an argentavis, and throw it into a taming pen, than knock it out. Never fight it in the water, it will stun u, and it swims faster than u. It only eats fish meat. If it kills a fish it also gets it into its inventory instantly.

Use a bola then stand behind it with a club bow and arrow etc, they only eat fish meat so make sure u are near a body of water to get the meat.

These guys literally annoy me, I was on my raptor with my otter when suddenly a baryonyx appeared out of thin air! He knocked me of my raptor and started chomping away on it next thing you know my raptor is nearly dead and we are running away. But guess what, a purlovia came running at us... Well let's just say my raptor didn't survive but I somehow got away ;-; my otter was kinda injured cuz I accidently threw it of when I panicked. RIP unnamed raptor

For everyone saying why does it attack me if it eats fish? Well I have the answer: in it’s official entry it’s aggression is listed as passive to land creatures, but aggressive to water-dwellers so it attacks you when you go in water so don’t go in or near water and it will not attack you.

If a allo, spino, and raptor all had a baby this is what that monstrosity would be.

DO NOT FORGET these guys stun you AND your mount in the water, I made that mistake crossing river with my carno, I was dismounted but made it to shore. Once my Carno lost its stun it made quick work of the Baryonyx 😜

I was with my parasaur (joker) minding my own business near the beach shorelines and here comes a level 25 baryonyx and kills us both! So I went back, for my pride and dignity & tamed it! We became best friends since, now he is a level 75, a complete beast in the water with its stun attack. How to tame: easy, Bola it if it’s a low level or build a trap! It ONLY eats fish meat so you need to kill a few fish to put in its inventory to tame.They spawn near swamps and beach shorelines **everything is easier said than done** good luck!

Can be feed raw meat just has to be fed manually not automatically.

Taming in the redwood river you will need:

10 narcotics

A crossbow with 10 tranq arrows

A bola

A crude ton of fish

Tranq him on high ground or behind other creature because they will attack the creature you are behind first

When ur going to get the hunter artifact make sure that u ride one of these a decent to super high level one Bc of it stun attacc underwater u can lure insects into the water parts and Sl4uh73r t1m£

I have noticed a interesting thing that you can do with the Baryonyx. With his jumping ability you are able to make bunnyhopping, if you do this correcly you can boost a lot it's ground speed.
