From a bad experience with these things, I would not recommend killing them in the water because they are faster than any water creature I have ever seen. I also recommend that if you are a noob (like me) and don’t know how to kill them properly and think you can lead them into a triceratops or something to let them attack each other, it won’t work. Once they lock on to you, they won’t attack anything else until it finds you and completely destroys you. TIP: The only thing you can do is a get high ground and hit them with anything long range.
When I was a noobie in Ark I saw this guy. Like the therizinosaur incident with me thinking this guy is passive I walked up to him while he was busy dealing three raptors. He slew the raptors easily then he drew his attention to me. I was like “Hello there” and he was like “Omae wa, mou shindeiru.” He stunned and easily killed me. Lesson learned. Don’t ever, ever go near creatures dealing with other hostiles. You might save your character by doing this.
NEVER and I mean NEVER FIGHT IN WATER. They will stun and all you can do is wait as you see this thing kill your lv 132 triceratops. That has killed rexs. Rip Trixie the triceratops Jan 2020- Mar 2020.
If you ever see one alone, get the heck out of there. It will kill your friends, your family, and everyone you ever met. Including you. I had a shotgun. And I killed one. Then sometime later, a Baryonyx comes and eats my Tapejara, my raptor pack, my rex, and most of my thatch home (Don't ask) I ended that Baryonyx with my trusty shotgun I named Cal.
