Find an Astrodelphis, clear nearby threats and separate it from its pod, then pet it and feed it Element from the last slot of your hotbar. Trapping it in a simple enclosed structure makes the passive tame much easier, while staying close when it swims away prevents taming progress from dropping. Be prepared with extra Element and keep hostile creatures away during the process.
On a non boosted server you need around 100 element i sugest building a small griffin trap and whatever you do DO NOT LET IT CHASE NEAR ITS HERD as soon as it its you he will call his friends always build the trap on the space bridge this is out of render distance (atleast for me) from where they usely spawn. When the trap is built just put element in your last slot and go near it and it wil chase you
