Use a tek skiff with a cannon on the back and fly around with your friend and shoot it in the face

Easiest way is with a mek and the cannon weapon, it costs a bit to make but one shot to the face is usually all it takes to knock it out. Levels above 90 may take 2 shots. Best way to do it if you dont have the skiff unlocked from the boss battle.

It can't produce ambergris passively as it is suppose to, so useless in pve.

Just a heads up once you tame one if you leave them alone they will start to wonder off so keep these guys in a cryopod or a dinoleash until u need it.

To KO it you have to use the turrets on the TEK Hover-Skiff then you use exceptional kibble or meat to tame.

157 and down is one Mek cannon so use that and ur good to go

Feed it As soon as you knock it. Otherwise it will die when asteroid clean up

This bad boy has 3 separate tek canons on it.

Get 3 buddies and go raiding! Make sure you brought a lot of element though!

the only tip i have for these outside of pvp is that in pve they can be used as another bed placement away from base so you lag less while loadong in. And on gen 2 and maybe 1 these can be used to hover above brute creatures and drop bombs from safety.

Imagine having 1 or 2 of these, and likeb10 astrodelphis and the astrocetus is the mothership

You don't need a Tek skiff. A easy tame is quest stone roof going one out for shade four standing torches beging player flying it and cannon at back. I know this cuz I had to do it solo bring about fifteen cannons and a friend if possible.

Use other flyers as transport and bomb others bases for PvP

Use mek and cannon one shot in the face. If u have no skiff let the whale get as close as you can to shoot so you can get from the ground or the back of a giga. Ps survive the Ark

Use a Canon on your Tek skif and use extrodenary kibble

If using a mek find your whale, shoot the whale with a sniper or a longneck to get its aggro. Once done get some distance away to allow the whale to come straight toward you. One shot with the mek to its head with the cannon on the meks back will knock any level out. ( note: using a mek will ruin the efficiency of the tame) you will not get max level with a mek. Last night tamed a 130 and it gained 21 levels instead of the normal amount. For perfect tame mount a cannon on a skiff or rig something on the ground to place a cannon and aggro it toward it. They will break your cannon so beware.

It says that a lvl 1 astrocetus can’t be knocked out by cannonballs cuz it says NaN chance of death

Use a mek with a connon which may be acquired by tek replicator which u can get through 2nd or 3rd level loot crate

If you do not yet have the Tek Skiff, use the Tek Mek cannon and a blood stalker to knock it down. Depending upon your max level, the mek may not take it down in one shot. My wild max is 300 so I'll use a rocket at first to deal the difference in torpor and finish it with the mek cannon. Keep in mind that rockets, cannon, and Tek Mek deal splash damage so it will not come out to a perfect tame. Use a long neck to shoot and lure the whale. Once it's facing you from a reasonable distance, shoot the rockets to deal the difference in torpor and the mek can finish it. The base mek cannon deals 25k torpor. If you have a blue print, it will deal more in one hit. I personally recommend the mek over the skiff as it's less likely to run away with mek vs the cannon and cannon ball method.
