Tips & Strategies
hardest part of taming an argy is the location. keep an eye out for rexes, allos, and other argys while the one you're taming is out
Tbh with y’all, Argies are really cute and very easy to tame. All u have to do is knock it out using tranq darts (or tranq arrows) about 3-5 and then when they r unconscious js get sum meat and put it in him or her and it won’t take very long. And same with breeding, js get a female and a male Argie, set them both to wander, and when they r finished doing whatever they have to do, watch ur egg hatch! WARNING ⚠️: The egg can die if it gets too hot, so watch out for that and u’ll be fine. I’ve bred many and have 4 baby argies and 7 or 8 adult ones! Good luck taming and breeding 👍
If encountered do these two steps
1.Bola friend
2.Run
CAN BE LASSO'D
That just made everything MUCH easier.
You should at least bring a cross bow and 5 tranq arrows for low level and about 30 for a high level and about 100 narcotics just in case and feed it prime meat or regular meat or kibble it likes then wait for it to tame then you have your self a arg press the arrow pointing up if it was helpful thanks if you do ☺️💓
Here’s how to get an argy fairly early on with a minimalistic trap:
Make a 1x1x2 trap with a (preferably stone, wood might survive but be careful) foundation, 8 doorframes and one hatchframe ceiling. Leave 2 doorframes out as an entrance and lead the argy into the trap. Quickly place the doorframes behind it by running up to the side of the trap and placing them. The argy will now be stuck and probably spin in place. Just stand close enough so it doesn’t do this and slingshot until it gets knocked out.
Please note: the Argentavis can now fit through one tile spaces, good to know if you are using a ptera (which can also fit through one tile spaces) and trap method to tame.
I found one and tamed in near the western plans Beach on the island
I’m gonna be honest, these things are the best! I mean, I saw this thing on Dododex and did some research and found out it is really good. I tame a lvl 20 and her and I were best friends. They have INSANE weight reduction, they have great health, and great stamina. They aren’t the fastest, but they will get you to where you need to go with only a couple stops. Mine is now like lvl 85 and I use her to kill alpha raptors and alpha carnos. Keep in mind this guy only has 15 hundred health. Overall, this Dino is a wonderful tame and is easy to tame, it has many uses and is hard to kill once you get a saddle for. I don’t care if you like, but I hope this helped. ;)

Often finds the in top of mountains..
Argies are great for attack from above to easly kill rexs but remember to still pump health becuase if you get stuck under your dead
You can find this in the top left of the map they are easy to find there
1-2 tranq darts in head and he’s knocked, go get some meat and kill some of those jellyfish and get bio toxin then put the bio toxin in it and feed it until the argies hunger is on 1000 or less then put all your meat in it
Fly Safe
Argentavis: All you need to know
The Argentavis, or argy, is a tanky arial that is favored in many ways among survivors. Having the body of a giant eagle and the head and neck of a vulture, the argy is a truly unique and amazing creature. Argys can carry a larg multitude of items at more efficient amounts. Especially stones and obsidian. Some have even made their Argentavis’ saddle a mobile smithy. Being rather slow, argys best used for carrying large loads of goods, rather that just travel. They do have good stamina in the air and the ability to heal themselves when eating fresh carcasses, so some do disagree. To tame one of these magnificent birds, it’s best to use a trap. Simply lead a unsuspecting argy into a closed box trap, and then tranqu it from there. They are carnivores, so feed an argy meat and mutton to earn its trust. To kill an argy you can use a large, tanky mount, or another flyer with high melee. Shotguns are also a good tool to use against these things. This is all for today but I hoped this helped you in any way.
