The thing I found easiest is to use a distraction dino, such as a few dodos, and just set them in front of you so the agrent will agro on it for a moment. Maybe not long, but it did long enough for me to be able to knock it out

In pvp if you get picked up by one of these you can get away by grappling the ground, but you will take fall damage so make sure you have some parachutes.

Well from what I've learned when taming an argy is

That a trap works best for me captain fat dog's argy trap works best(captain fat dog is a youtubers if you didn't know) I usually use a crossbow and tranq arrows

But I've killed many high level argy cause the cross bow does way too much damage and not alot of torpor

So I use tranq darts and long neck and no wonder the tranq darts unlock on the same level as the argy saddle

My first flyer was the Argy. They’re literally just a flying smithing table.

An very easy way to get metal using Argy is riding on any flyer then whistling follow to about 3 or more argys (I use tapejera as a flyer) then taking them to lava mountain . Remember to put lots of woods in argys inventory. Make an smelting place + storage at the top of the mountain put those woods in the forge . And request an anky to there then just mine all the metal with anky and put most of them to smelt and take out other in the Argy . And take them back to home. And let the other metal to smelt at your base. After a few in game days get back to that mountain with those argys and carry all the iron back to base .

Using a dino to distract the argy is better than wasting resources, things you need will be a tanky dino [on passive] some prime, 30-50 tranq arrows, and a crossbow and wait, i recognize using so narcotics to be safe. I got 12 argy that way including 2 raven/crow colored and 2 chickens. I reccomend using a dino trap on the argys in a group cuz they may kill your tame. Thats a taming tip, enjoy :)

Lately I have tamed a male argy up on the mountains but when It was at my base it was not producing eggs so if you want one you should get a female so that the eggs start to produce faster not sure that’s how it’s intended to work but it ALWAYS works for me mate so enjoy this usefull tip

You can use the sleeping trick on any knock-out tame! Trap it, sleep and knock out. The food value will be 0.0. Now put food in inventory and you have tamed it in half minute! No starving and food spoiling!

I 100% recommend taming this its very op and if you want to carry lots of metal tame an anquilosaurus the anquilo has a 85% reduction of metal they are a very good duo

Great dmg, stam, and weight (speed isnt that good though, but u can lvl that up)

Good for pvp (if u have a good arg and u are good at snatching)

Also good for pvp because you can kill someones dino or a random wild dino (like some wandering dodo or dilo) and make ur arg eat the corpse, which gives u that one meme: ‘ ‘ Regen go brrrrrrr ‘ ‘

The way I tamed my argies are like this. I don’t use a trap. The argies are not quick so you cam make it aggro on you , fly a bit farther with your pteranodon (or run) shot it with tranqs and repeat.Then you can use spikes around if you want to protect it.

Not really any argy tip but I used Argys in breeding, if you cryo the babies you dont want and find something you want to tame ex. Rex or a higher lvl argy, after you knock out your new dino, toss the babies out and slaughter them for prime meat that doesn't spoil as fast.

How to tame an argy.

Go right outside the arctic

Place 2 Dino doorways right next to each other

Put doors on them

Go find the argy you want and make it Agro on you

Run to your doorways

Open the first door and go in between

Wait for the argie to follow, when it does, shut the door and run out

Then the Argie is trappped

Feed it a corpse to make the healing affect start

Knock it out however you want ( WHILE THE HEALING IS STILL ON)

Put meat of any kind in its inventory, BAM it tamed in SECONDS!

Congrats, you have an argie! They’re saddle unlocks and lvl 62

Arguably easy to actually tame, hard to get to though

These guys are pretty slow if you upgrade movement speed a bit so if you find one when you just start, you should be able to outrun it.

FYI they eat prime meat jerky

I recommend as it does quite a bit and lasts longer than prime meat but not as effective as prime meat

Why it says 100% chance of death? Idk. I slingshot the heck outta it and knocked a 140 argy out.
