Tips & Strategies

The argentavis is a late to middle early-game flying workhorse, which many players see as essential to tame. It is slower than pteranodons and tapejaras, but faster than the quetzalocalus, making it the second slowest flying tame on the Island. It is generally untouchable from most land predators while in the air, but is very vunerable when perched on the ground. If attacked by land predators, DO NOT RETALIATE if said predator is larger than a raptor if your argentavis level is 1-25. Simply get off your mount if you are sure you can kill it, otherwise, wait unti your stamina is at ca 1/3 of the max, or about 300 and escape from it. I recommend perching on tall rocks or in isolated areas, and with a bit of stamina left. When flying, carrying three or even four parachutes will help to ensure your longevity, as geting your mount killed in pvp or simply accidentally hitting dismount can have very fatal results for you. The parachute is easy to make and will save you from a fall, a headache, or won't matter in the end, as those dudes in their tapejara followed you onto the ground.
ROLES
GATHERER TRANSPORT
The Argentavis suited for harvesting resources, as it can carry any parasaur-sized creatures or smaller in its talons, allowing you to transport your otherwise slow and bulky ankylo over the entire Island in twenty minuters or more. The Argentavis carries stone, metal, obsidian and more at reduced weight by itself, so having no good harvesting dinos makes little difference wheightwise.
HAULER
As the argentavis has relatively high base weight capacity for a flyer, making it effective at transporting base building materials, raw materials, dinos, and even pepole long distances at low risk for running into a level 500 alpha Rex. It is a bit more risky adding in a human factor, however, so if a server is populated enough, you might want an escort.
EMERGENCY HUNTER
In a pinch, an Argentavis serves well for hunting small medium creatures or sauropods. It can hunt raptors and parasaurs with ease, as it can pick them from the ground and kill them in the air. Sauropods are a bit trickier, but also a valuable source of easy prime meat for a sudden, rare tame like a tek Rex or quetzalocalus. The oly thing you have to do to take out sauropods is stay close to them, find a sweet spot where the cannot attack you and pray your stamina doesn't run out. They generally do very little damage, so this is easy. DO NOT attack titanosaurs (the ones with rocks on their backs) , as they will qiuckly reduce you to a boken mess.
TROLLING AID
Webever you are bored, you can fly up to a player, grab them off their mount, and drop them from a small distance. Then simply wrote "we do a little trolling" in the chat and leave before they unload their assault rifle into your face.
TAMING AID
The Argentavis can pick up and immobilize most small creatures, making them easier to tame, eg picking a wild raptor from an unwinnable fight, or a diplocalus from a swamp.

the weight of metal is half on an argy
They take half weight for crystal, metal, and obsidian.
Arguably the most necessary mount for single player
Roles:
ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
Resource Carrier
Since it has a 50% weight reduction on metal, metal ingots, crystals, obsidian, and stone, it is really great for carrying resources! Itβs weight alone is a lot, meaning it could hold lots of stuff!
Player Killer
Due to the ability to hold most creatures, picking up humans in a PVP area and dropping them is real funny and helps you gain loot
Hunter
It can kill something while carrying it, making it really good for hunting! Itβs speed allows it to not get hit, and itβs damage is high!
Dinosaur Transporter
Itβs ability to carry most dinos, as I said before, is important for transporting tamed dinos to other places! Upgrade Stamina and sometimes Weight.
If you donβt have one, get one NOW. They are pretty easy to tame, and are great for transport and carrying things, whether itβs resources or creatures. Find them around mountains or in the snow. Pretty easy KO with tranq darts. The only problem is that theyβre kind of slow! Thanks for reading!
Argy's are a great tame to get, if you get a saddle from a drop at a low level, immediatly get yourself an argy, it has an INSANE amount of uses which I will list:
1.You can use it to harvest organic poly (use sword or club to kill penguins, transfer poly to argy, has less weight reduction than pela, but has more total weight than pela)
2(ARK mobile only). These guys(along with quetzals) are the only real way to transport dinos. Chronicling them costs essence (expensive) and there's no crypods. Tape and Pter can carry very small dinos only.
3. Metal gathering. These boyos have a reduction on ingots and straight up metal, and you can use it to carry an anky(which harvests and has more weight reduction for pure metal)
4. Combat. Due to their ability to pick up dinos, you can pick up high level dinos and carry them to a turret area (pvp) and players(more dangerous bc shotgun, must i say more? They can also attack the dino they are carrying, which lets you farm something like parasaurs easier. They can also be used to airdrop certain dinos *coughs in level 500 arthropluera* onto enemy bases or tanky dinos into turrets *coughs in lvl 300 carbenomys*
5. Taming. As mentioned in the combat section, they're able to carry dinos, which lets you pick up high level dinos*coughs in max lvl wild arthropluera(i like arthros, can you tell?)* And take them to a safer place(for you safari tamers) or a pen to ko them and tame them
-Your local ARK Mobile player, H12
These are great for taming small Dinosaur because you can hold it above while your team fires tranq and you can also go gather prime with it
I agree with them having a tek saddle but not only having a smithy they have a fabricator too
Mine wonβt breed, I got male and female gave female pheromone and they wonβt breed. Up if their breedable down if no. I rlly need help!
Wild card, we NEED an upgradeable movement speed stat on these guys. I love my argy, but he is soooooo slow.
