You want to ideally have an anky with the mineral bearing trait. This will highly reduce the weight of metal aswell as some other resources, however i imagine were all taming this guy for some steel

These guys are good all around. They can do good damage and are good resource collectors. The only downside is that they are very slow.

Need flint or metal? This is the tame for you. Only bd thing about them? Very very slow. They are faster when on following then when being ridden.

Does it collect nodes on wander?

Only base melee influences the amount of resources gathered, therefore it is useless to put points there, unless you want the any to be able to defend itself, which actually isn't so useless

Great for flint, metal and cactus sap as well. A must have in Scorched Earth

The higher the melee on Ankylo the more ressources is NOT true. That's a myth. It just means more damage, so that you can destroy nodes in one shot when you reach a certain melee percentage. One shotting nodes = faster farming. After that point is reached, leveling melee is useless (unless you want a fighter ankylo). Level melee until you can one shot nodes, then invest in weight.

Metal only weighs 0.25 kg in an ankylo instead of 1 kg.

The Anky is the M-1 Abrams of the Cretaceous. It’s tough as hell, and packs a punch with that tail. They can take out a TRex pretty easy. However they really shine as Metal miners. Anky reduces the weight of carrier Metal to 15% normal weight. So a stake of 300 will only weigh 45 on an Anky. So never transfer Metal off your Anky until you are putting it in the forge. Also, conventional wisdom says pump lots of damage. This is wrong. Don’t go beyond 220% or so. It kills the nodes to quickly and you actually lose Metal ore that way. Take a few more whacks and get about 600 per big node instead of just 300. When leveling friend Anky, focus 220 Damage, over 10k health, and the rest in weight. A low level Anky is always better than no Anky, so if you get a low one, get it to 220 damage, 600 weight and the rest in health (until 10k) and leftover in weight. These dinos are essential to the survival and success of any Survivor or Tribe!

Ankys are my best metal collector but you need to upgrade the weight

The mobile farming goat old ark mobile has no magmasaurs so these are the number one

The anky is one of the best metal harvesters and has a huge weight reduction for metal, it also gathers flint really well

I had a really good pick to I didn’t see the need to use one of these guys until I found out that these guys can hold over there max weight with just harvesting with max weight since putting items in the guys inventory when it’s full doesn’t work this helps I just pick it up with my flyer and go around dropping it on rocks and with the weight reduction the anky has I can carry more up if this was helpful

You need it if you what to not spend hours farm metal also use a Argy to carry to metal rock for extra metal.

So a lvl 30 anky can fight and alpha raptor! Mine has killed 3 due to it hitting hard and knocking them back, the raptors can't hit them! Ankylosaurs aren't just for metal, but they are also for alpha raptor killing machines! These things are my favorite herbivore because of this.
