You can carry the anky with you’re Argy and get close to any iron resource and he will automatically hit the metal or resources. Pretty cool for getting resources that are on the side of mountains that you can’t walk in.

One word. METAL. This guy can easily gather tons of it.

More melee is always better, but be aware that when you break around 540-560% melee you can only hit the rich noses of metal once, you lose a lot of metal that way. Keep pumping melee past that though and you more than make up for it with how much metal you get from the lower quality modes

I was hunting stuff with my Sarco on Herbivore Island waiting for my twin Rexes to get ready for more imprinting. I was using the Target whistle and I whistled for my Sarco to attack a Brontosaurus. Long story short, the Ankylosaurus I keep there for metal mining heard the whistle and started to attack the Brontosaurus. The Sarco is very capable of killing Brontos, but it couldn’t kill the Brontosaurus in time to save the Ankylosaurus. One up = one F in the chat for my Ankylosaurus that served me for about 200 days

Not sure how many people know this and before you needed someone to help with this but in ascended at least you can pick up your anky with an argy and if you stop the anky close enough to the metal rock it will hit it on it's own... you only need to land to dump the stone... 🤌🤌

They collect while being held by a flyer ( I use Argie) so you don’t technically need to craft a saddle. Just fly near metal rocks and it will smack it automatically (same goes for doedicurus)

Both the anky and doed will attack faster in the water. Flint and stone along the river is an easy way to go about it.

These guys are useful no matter what point in the game your in, also they are great at hitting those annoying flying creatures you can never hit like onyx

bro i getting my first anky by starving it and then i checked if it could get berries(it is level 20) on a jungle fern.bro it got 3 rockarrots in one swing of its fat a**cheeks.

Ankys are oddly fast in the water on mobile do with that as you will

So I tamed one of these guys and took him to the grand hills where there are lots of metal. To save the time of going back and forth from my base located at the western coast I tamed at least five pteranodons and leveled them up increasing their weight capacity. And I've been using them to transport metal,obsidian,crystals,etc that me and m anky collects. I used pteranodons to transport them by air which is a lot safer in my opinion. I've been playing ark for almost 2 weeks now btw.

A very simple knock out tame just pelt with arrows! It's slow and won't catch up, feed any berries or regular kibble.

A must tame for metal, obsidian, crystal and flint gathering.

For solo players you can do the argy and anky combo by enabling auto resource and putting the anky in wander. Than go ahead and do the same thing carry your anky near metal and he will collect it. No friends needed lol.

Use it for mining and transporting iron, combine it with an Argy or Quetzalcoatl (if you have one), that will speed up your iron mining and carrying it easily.

If your on mobile, set your anky to wander, ride an argy then carry the anky, go to nearby metal deposits and watch as it does the work for you

Everyone talks about metal farming with them but they are also the only tame that gets both flint and stone from regular rocks. A pick does that too but ankys can defend themselves better then u and ur pick lol. Oh and can farm faster. Use one for metal but let them hit some normal rocks so you can become the sparkpowder lord

If you carry your ankylo with a Arge, next to the metal deposit, the ankylo will harvest it without having to drop and get on the ankylo yourself.

To the quetz and argy guys. Tame a karkinos and farm on ab best way hands down

Ankylosaurus are some of the best metal gatherers, and they also have severe metal ore weight reduction, so that 256 metal can only weigh 68.00 kilograms instead of the full 256 kilograms. If you make a forge-centered base on Herbivore Island in The Island Map, in the far south-east, the metal there respawns often, and an ankylosaurus can get up to at least 108 metal per swing.! Bring a high-weight creature as a pack mule along with you as well, though, as the weight will stack up eventually.!
