This creature is very useful in single player because of the need of metal for tools, saddles, shotguns, rifles, etc. In pvp it’s essential because metal is might! To tame you just need a slingshot and berries, even though tranq arrows are much better. One of the best creatures in Ark.

If you level up their Melee Damage stat, they gather more Metal Ore.

I know everyone knows this, but they are better at harvesting more Metal Ore than a Metal Pickaxe, Dododex says that but it is wrong.

Bring a karkinos and a mating pair. You can hold one with karkinos and have a friend gather with the other. Ankys get a 30% more resource yield which is nice when having mate boost

AMAZING all around tame for genesis 1, collects anything you need from starter to medium level materials. Movement speed and weight upgrade pts required!

The Anky is slow and steady- he might not be a PvP Demon but he’ll make sure your metal supplies never run dry

These are must haves for going to the moutains, and obtaining metal. They collect lots of thatch, yet small amounts of wood. They can also collect berries, and rocks. If you go to a metal rock you get lots of metal and rock by using an ankylo. If you go to a normal rock, you get lots of flint with the ankylo. I guess you could say they collect everything. They are also pretty tanky.

Argies can also be fit with them.

You can use this with an arge just simply pick up the ankly and go next to metal great combo

The goldish stones in the volcano give much more metal

THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST, I have one in a cryopod so I would just get on my argy fly around and find the gold metal deposits, I would then fling my anky out of its cryopod and gather the metal put it on my argy, then put my anky back into it's cryopod. Then once my argy could barely fly I would get rid of my junk materials on me to lighten the load and head back home. (I now have enough metal where I would go out for a while and when I come back to my base I still have about 600 metal in my refining forge still trying to get smelted)

They are good at harvesting metal and the best place to find them on the island are the mountains herbivore island and the red woods they can be picked up by argys, wyverns and crystal wyverns too , quetzal

Between this creature and the mining drill and an decent weight arg, you'll be able to carry tons worth of metal and stone.

These guys will be your first step towards a metal base! Ankys will gather metal very efficiently for you to smelt and use!

These boys give you so much metal and if you have a high level one the will keep you super safe I was in my official sever and heard a rex roar it took a bite out of me the my anky comes in and it says your anky level 242 killed lvl 100 rex

Make the saddle first then tame it. It makes life easier

This guy is REALLY good early game to get metal. But if you have Genesis or the server is custom to let you have one without Genesis, then the mining drill is far superior.

Just got a saddle on my girl bumpy and I love her even more!!! This thing is a boss metal gatherer!!! A bit slow but I will just increase her speed!

Decent swimmer, i’d say it has the same speed with a parasaur while swimming, super slow on land though, also to the person who said 220% melee is best for anky, can you inform me if 462% melee is ok because it had that much melee when i tamed it, it was a lvl 150 anky before taming, 225 when i tamed it
