I recommend starving the anky first if it’s a high lvl( you can do that for low lvls too) up so noobs can see

Guide on Ankylosaurs (only for the island):

So, you are among the many survivors that seek to tame the herbivorous dinosaur Ankylosaurus (I’m calling it anky). Because this would probably be a major turning point in your survival experience, you should probably prepare.

First off, the anky is found in the many mountainous terrain in the island. There, it coexists with many dangerous carnivores like the Trex, raptor, and allosaurus. The anky defends itself with its club tail, using it to deal a deadly blow. But, the anky can also be found in the peaceful HERBIVORE ISLAND, which is an islet at the Southeast Tip of the island. There, ankys are abundant and there are no carnivores.

To tame the anky, check the area around it and clear any unwanted animals. You don’t want a Rex to get a double dish! The anky is very slow. Just walk backwards and shoot it with TRANQUILIZING AMMO which can be unlocked at lvl 21 (tranq arrows).

The anky has many uses:

Carries tons of metal. Also harvests a lot with its tail.

Defends base.

Is a cool Dino!!!

Go to herbivore island so that your tame is not disrupted

Be careful with there eggs cuz they are very sensitive to the heat. I suggest doing it in the arctic with torches. Took me so long to figure it out

How to tame an anky:

First of all find and anky ofc

Then make sure theres no others in attacking distance(optional if u can kill them)

Now just walk backwards shooting tranq arrows at its head(their to slow to catch up)

Repeat until unconscious

Tame with berrys and narcotics if needed.

They’re common on herbivore island ( the south east one) and in the tundra.

How to tame an Ankylosaurus:

1. Ankylos are slow, so you can knock it out while walking, or build a small structure using stone to tame it more safely.

2. When you find an ankylo, start shooting it with a tranquilizing ammo, like tranq arrows or certain darts.

3. Keep shooting until it's knocked out. After it's knocked out, feed it berries, veggies, or a preferred kibble.

I ligit found the anky from the pic. Had exactly same colors 😮

I took a short trip to herbivore island on my raft bearing tranqs narcotic and carrots I tamed an anky but then the question became how do I get it back to base so i put on the saddle rode on to my raft and came home with the new anky

If you have a steep incline, take the high ground and you can just stand there and unload without having to run.

If you don’t want any trouble and found a lot of struggle to find it (even tho it’s ez) just go to the herbi island and you would find 2 and without any creature ruining your tame

You know why I love this guy? Well it's not so obvious, but i am here you tell you my tactic for collecting metal. So take argentavis and lift your anky to places with a lot of rocks, because he is GREAT for collecting metal.Plus he is great for defense, because of his attacks. Your welcome and for taming just shoot it in face while running backwards. (They are pretty slow,you can also feed it with any berries).

Make sure to at least have a bow before you tame one of these, don't run in with a slingshot or your fists. They might be slow but they're powerful.

You can now pick it up with an argy!

When taming this dino make sure he's close to ur base or you'll have to walk him home and trust me that takes very long unless u have a quetsel or agentavis...

Most efficient way of taming one.

Find a good level ≥ Trap it (just to be safe) ≥ Knock it out ≥ Place spikes for protection ≥ Fully Starve it ≥ do other things while waiting for it to starve ≥ Chuck narco berries if torpor gets low to slowly increase torpor giving more time for it to starve ≥ once fully starved feed it ≥ watch it insta tame.

Just run backwards and shoot. When it gets close, run away and keep shooting
