The Anky is the M-1 Abrams of the Cretaceous. It’s tough as hell, and packs a punch with that tail. They can take out a TRex pretty easy. However they really shine as Metal miners. Anky reduces the weight of carrier Metal to 15% normal weight. So a stake of 300 will only weigh 45 on an Anky. So never transfer Metal off your Anky until you are putting it in the forge. Also, conventional wisdom says pump lots of damage. This is wrong. Don’t go beyond 220% or so. It kills the nodes to quickly and you actually lose Metal ore that way. Take a few more whacks and get about 600 per big node instead of just 300. When leveling friend Anky, focus 220 Damage, over 10k health, and the rest in weight. A low level Anky is always better than no Anky, so if you get a low one, get it to 220 damage, 600 weight and the rest in health (until 10k) and leftover in weight. These dinos are essential to the survival and success of any Survivor or Tribe!

Don’t shoot it in the head, It takes reduced torpor from headshots cause of armor, go for the legs cause I’ve seen that it takes more torpor that way

I had a really good pick to I didn’t see the need to use one of these guys until I found out that these guys can hold over there max weight with just harvesting with max weight since putting items in the guys inventory when it’s full doesn’t work this helps I just pick it up with my flyer and go around dropping it on rocks and with the weight reduction the anky has I can carry more up if this was helpful

it’s better to carry it with an argentavis instead of transferring all the metal and cryo poding it

In ASA you cannot put it on a boat. If getting from herbivore isle use argue with good stamina.

You need it if you what to not spend hours farm metal also use a Argy to carry to metal rock for extra metal.

One of the ways to move a very over weight anky or other dinos that i find helpful is to pick then up with a argy and let the momentum move it forward then drop and repeat.

Im level 50 but idk where herbivore island can someone pls point it out where to fins it bc I need these guys

So a lvl 30 anky can fight and alpha raptor! Mine has killed 3 due to it hitting hard and knocking them back, the raptors can't hit them! Ankylosaurs aren't just for metal, but they are also for alpha raptor killing machines! These things are my favorite herbivore because of this.

Necessary tame

#1 Metal miner unless ur on genisis cuz magmasaurs

It can be carried by argy, reducing weight for metal cuz argy has -50% while this guy has a wopping -85% weight reduction, plus its faster than riding normally

Gathers immerusable amounts of flint

They’re very nice for taining put all lvl’s on health eaisily let the dino attack it and shoot tranq arrows/darts.

this tame is good at gathering oil! take it into a river and harvest the rocks at the bottom!

Go to herbivore island it has plenty of ankylosauruses there

You can use these guys to clear out forested areas for a base or something

Ankys are not a Dino that is going to go after you unless you hit them first and even if they are after you outrunning them is literally the easiest thing in the world, you almost walk faster than their run so you literally don’t need a brain to escape them, now in terms of killing them, I mean it’s not very difficult at all honestly, they’re pretty tanky sure but their attacks are slow have almost no range and generally won’t hit you unless you let them.
